Choosing a dance school is a significant decision for any family, and A Performing Arts Academy is an excellent choice for those in the Massachusetts area. The academy's warm, family-oriented culture sets it apart from many other studios. As noted by one parent, the environment is nurturing and supportive, making it a place where students and parents alike feel like they belong. The strong sense of community is a key reason why so many families choose to stay with us for years, with some daughters dancing here for close to a decade. This longevity is a testament to the trust and satisfaction our community has in our programs and our staff.
Furthermore, the quality of instruction at APAA is consistently high. The instructors are not only skilled dancers but are also caring and dedicated educators who focus on building a strong technical foundation. The competitive dance team, for example, is highlighted by a parent for providing a supportive yet challenging setting that has increased their daughter's confidence and knowledge of various dance styles. The choreography is always technical, current, and, importantly, age-appropriate, ensuring that students are challenged without being pushed into material that is not suitable for them. This careful balance is a hallmark of our program and demonstrates our commitment to the well-being and proper development of every student.
Finally, A Performing Arts Academy offers a holistic education that goes beyond dance steps. Students learn invaluable life lessons, including discipline, teamwork, and respect. As one parent shared, their daughter has learned much more than just dance, setting a high bar for all her future endeavors. The academy's commitment to producing not just skilled dancers but also confident and well-rounded individuals is what makes it a truly worthwhile choice. From toddlers taking their first steps in a combo class to advanced students performing in our yearly recital or competing on our team, every dancer at APAA is given the tools to flourish both on and off the stage.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Warm, family oriented, nurturing, excellent dance studio, always evolving, incorporating new ideas, whose teachers are well prepared, caring and totally vested in their dancers, at all levels and talents. APAA produces an excellent yearly Nutcracker with the Greater Salem Ballet Company and exceeds expectations at dance competitions season after season. Its alumnae go on to teach dance, compete at the college level, and keep dancing after they leave.
June 09 · cali holsMy daughters have been with dancing with APAA for close to 8 years and as a parent, I appreciate the effort made by the incredible instructors to keep the dances technical, current, and age appropriate. APAA's competitive dance team has provided my daughter with the opportunity to increase her knowledge of dance styles, given her the ability to learn, practice & perform dance routines multiple times and increased her confidence in performing in a supportive, competitive setting. Dance team has also fostered my daughter’s friendships & has given her the opportunity to compete along side some of the older dancers that she looks up to and admires. The experience of dance team has increased her overall confidence while allowing her to grow in her love for dance.
May 30 · Jennifer ReamesMy daughter has danced here for over 8 years. The instructors are caring and inspiring. They push them to do their best but in a positive and rewarding way by providing excellent opportunities for competitive dancers, but also supporting those who are not in it for the competitions. We're so fortunate to have found APAA and have had it be a such a big part of my daughter's life.
January 03 · Leanne SchildMy 3 daughters have been attending A Performing Arts Academy for over 10 years. The instructors are incredible and treat the girls as if they were their own. My girls have made lifelong friendships while doing what they love to do! APAA is amazing!
January 08 · Alexia MeechinMy daughter has taken dance and movement classes at APAA since she was 3 years old. She has loved every minute. She has the opportunity to try all different styles of dance. She has the opportunity to participate in classes as well as Dance Team, Nutcracker, recitals and more. The studio is the best that I have seen and the teachers care that each of the dancers is able to thrive and grow. My daughter has learned life skills thru her experience at APAA. She has gained self confidence and grace. She has also learned compassion for others. Her dance friends are like family! I strongly recommend APAA!!!
