The Belleville School of Ballet, located in the heart of the community, offers a wide array of programs for aspiring dancers of all ages. From classical ballet to more modern styles, the school aims to provide dance training that caters to a diverse range of interests. This article provides a factual overview of what the Belleville School of Ballet offers, based on available public information, to help you make an informed decision on your dance journey.
The school's website states its aim is to cultivate an appreciation for dance in every student, regardless of their aspirations, whether they seek a professional career, cultural enrichment, or personal accomplishment. It highlights that the studio is staffed with "the finest teachers who have extensive backgrounds" and that it has a group of non-professional dancers as well as an experienced group of older dancers involved in various performances. The school also hosts guest choreographers to set ballets for its dancers and ends the year with a performance for all students.
However, it is important for prospective students and their families to consider the full spectrum of public feedback. Some reviews raise concerns about the school's environment and teaching methods. For instance, one former student noted they "learned nothing new" and felt "constantly comparing to other dancers," while another parent expressed dissatisfaction with a particular instructor's patience and tone, stating, "I would prefer my daughter to have a more positive dance experience, so I won't be taking her back." These reviews suggest that while the school may offer various programs, the personal experience can vary, and it may not be the right fit for everyone. It is recommended that local families take this information into account and perhaps visit the studio or speak to other current or former students to gain a more complete picture before enrolling.

Belleville School of Ballet Reviews
Highly not recommended. I danced her from 3 to 12 I learned nothing new. Teachers are very rude and fat shaming. I switched studios and have learned so much and have now loved dance it's a part of me sldc for life. Bsob offers the feeling of not being enough constantly comparing to other dancers. Very bad and unsafe Pointe training. Please do not go here.
September 19 · Tammy YuengelMy daughter did have fun with the instructor's helpers. The instructor herself was short on patience with the kids that were there, raised her voice too often and used a condescending tone. I would prefer my daughter to have a more positive dance experience, so I won't be taking her back.
October 24 · Jennifer PowersI took my daughter to the first lesson for ballet tonight. She is 2 1/2 years old and this is her first time. I walked her into the room because she was scared and the instructor told me I couldn't walk her in because she has to learn to come through the door. I go to put her down by the door and she continues to cry and the instructor says she can't come here like that. I was completely disgusted by the instructors rude demeanor and unprofessionalism. I signed my daughter up for private lessons and would rather pay triple and never take her to a place like this again. I will not be returning.
February 04 · Becky AmannIf you want your child to learn to dance in an atmosphere that requires good conduct and following directions, this is the place for you. My daughter danced there for eight years and while she learned to dance she also learned decorum, proper behavior and respect for adults. I wouldn't have traded this experience for anything else.
July 07 · Mary Kaye RichterLove it. Been dancing here for almost 11 years. wouldn't want to go anywhere else. This is definitely the studio to go to if you want to have good teachers. This is a serious studio.
