BIDA Contra Dance Reviews
BIDA is a fun and welcoming dance. contra is like square dancing but in long lines of couples, it's lots of fun to dance with everyone in the room together. there's always live music and a caller guiding the room, no experience or partner required to join in. I love the inclusive atmosphere, focused on consent and being welcoming to everyone. BIDA is genderfree, which means anyone can dance with anyone else regardless of how they look, and that makes the space so friendly and interconnected. I feel so lucky to live close to a contra dance this wonderful.
May 20 · Emma AzelbornBIDA is a great dance with a huge focus on accessibility and inclusivity. The age range is diverse, as are genders and ethnicities. One of the most beginner friendly places I can think of to be honest, and fun for experienced dancers too. I've made many friends at BIDA
May 20 · Lee PrunierIt's good, but it's a gay crowd that insists on everyone else to be gay too and lost of people with literally hairy armpits in your face which is kind of rude otherwise a great dance. Basically the gays took over the dance, which isn't bad, I wouldn't say they try to convert but more like shaming people who aren't gay or find a gay dance not as interesting. They literally forced me to call myself a bird instead of a gent.
