★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I spent 50 years being fearful of dancing of any kind. Starting with the seventh grade dancing school my mother told me to attend, which featured a battle-axe teacher saying "don't look at your feet!" and (gasp) actual girls, I was petrified. College fraternity parties were no better, but at least I could drink to numb my embarrassment. I thought I would never enjoy dancing or do it competently! Then I met the warm and welcoming Boston Lidy Hop community of enthusiastic teachers and passionate dancers of all ages and abilities. I started dancing Lindy Hop a year ago, taking the BLH Lindy 1 classes multiple times (I'm a slow learner). Now, amazingly, I love to dance, I'm comfortable on the social dance floor, and I'm taking Lindy 2 classes to hone my skills.I wish my awkward and petrified seventh grade self could see me now.Boston Lindy Hop = highly recommended!!
July 21 · David ScottExcellent communications from Boston LIndy Hop organization to new and experienced dancers concerning instructor led classes and upcoming local social dances. Clear descriptions of class content on their registration page. Instructors eager to help students in whichever class they enroll in. A variety of classes offered suitable for beginners up to experienced dancers. Reasonable class size allows for one-on-one assistance for students. All in all, a wonderful organization.
August 19 · William HaveyI’ve taken a number of dance lessons over the years. BLH is definitely one of the best, if not the best one so far. The instructors break down moves and are patient with your progress. Plus, they offer regular social dances that are welcoming and not intimidating. Everyone here is super friendly and supportive. If you want to try a social dance or just like jazz music, give this place a try.
June 12 · ArminI'm living proof that Boston Lindy Hop instructors can teach anyone how to swing dance. Very supportive teachers and excellent instruction, this is the place to go to if you want to learn how to dance. Classes sell out very quickly so I recommend staying on top of registration announcements via their newsletter or Facebook.
May 10 · James ShinBoston Lindy Hop Lessons are awesome! I registered for the full series in May, taking lessons level 1 through three. They were all great! Instructors pay close attention to each student and help you improve your style, connection, the flow of your dancing while having fund and learning new steps. Each instructor was engaging, making the lessons fun, with a good balance of introducing a move, practicing, and practicing with music. It is a friendly environment inviting to build community of like minded people who love to dance. Highly recommended!!!
