Everyday Ballet Introduce
In the bustling heart of New York City, finding a space that is both welcoming and professional for adult dancers can be a challenge. Everyday Ballet, a women-owned business, fills this unique niche with remarkable success. This studio is not your typical dance school; it is a sanctuary for adults who have always wanted to try ballet or those who are returning to it after a long hiatus. The studio’s core philosophy is to make the beauty and discipline of classical ballet accessible to everyone, regardless of age, body type, or prior experience. It's a place where the joy of movement is prioritized, and the intimidating atmosphere often associated with high-level dance training is replaced with a supportive and encouraging community.
The success of Everyday Ballet can be seen in the rave reviews from its students. Instructors, like Tiekka, are praised for their ability to make complex techniques "accessible to all levels" while still providing a challenging and informative workout. This balance is particularly appealing to those with "zero experience" who feel that they can finally learn ballet without being overwhelmed. The studio’s mission to make "the beauty, power, and grace of Ballet accessible to all" is truly put into practice. It's a space where adult students are empowered through body-positive classical ballet training, helping them to find grace and strength in their everyday lives. This approach transforms a simple class into a life-enriching practice that benefits both the body and the mind.
Everyday Ballet is conveniently located at 380 Broadway, 5th floor, New York, NY 10013, USA. Situated in the city, the studio is highly accessible via public transportation, making it a viable option for residents across various boroughs and neighborhoods. As a point of interest, it's worth noting that the studio is on the 5th floor, and visitors must be buzzed in to gain access, so punctuality is key. This small detail ensures a secure and focused environment for all classes. The central location provides a great opportunity for New Yorkers to easily incorporate ballet into their busy schedules, offering a serene escape from the urban hustle. The studio's commitment to providing on-site services at this easily reachable location is a major benefit for local users.
Everyday Ballet offers a specialized and focused range of services tailored specifically for the adult dancer. While the primary focus is on ballet, the approach is designed to be inclusive and beneficial for everyone. The services are structured to accommodate different learning preferences and schedules, providing flexibility for New York City's diverse population.
- Online classes, providing a convenient way to take lessons from anywhere.
- On-site services, allowing for in-person instruction and community building.
- Private lessons, offering one-on-one personalized coaching.
- Classes specialized for adults who have never studied ballet before.
- Training focused on improving posture and balance.
- Acceptance of credit cards and debit cards for easy and secure payment.
The blend of online and on-site options ensures that everyone can find a way to make ballet a part of their life, regardless of their commitments.
Everyday Ballet stands out in the crowded New York dance scene for several key features and highlights that directly address the needs of adult dancers. The studio’s commitment to small class sizes is a significant advantage. As one student noted, classes are "usually around 10 people," which allows teachers to "help everyone equally." This contrasts sharply with larger, more crowded studios where students might feel overlooked. The individualized attention ensures that beginners can learn the proper techniques from the very start, and more experienced dancers can receive detailed feedback to refine their skills.
Other notable features of the studio include:
- The studio’s specialization in "adults who've never studied ballet before," which creates a non-intimidating and supportive learning environment.
- A women-owned business that brings a unique perspective and inclusive philosophy to the dance world.
- A focus on practical benefits, such as improving posture and balance, which are valuable life skills beyond dance.
- A highly praised instructor who makes complex techniques "accessible to all levels."
- The flexibility of offering both on-site and online classes, catering to the modern, busy New Yorker.
These features combine to create a truly exceptional experience for anyone interested in exploring ballet.
For those ready to take their first step or resume their dance journey, Everyday Ballet is easily accessible. The studio is located at 380 Broadway, 5th floor, New York, NY 10013, USA. You can contact them by phone at (646) 450-1224 or via their mobile phone at +1 646-450-1224. The staff is ready to assist with any questions you may have about their programs, class schedules, and how to get started.
What makes Everyday Ballet a truly worthwhile choice for local New Yorkers is its unique and thoughtful approach to ballet education for adults. Unlike larger dance studios, where a beginner might get lost in a class of 30 people, Everyday Ballet offers a personalized and intimate experience. The focus on small class sizes is a game-changer, as confirmed by a student who previously took classes at larger, more well-known studios and felt they "didn't get much" from the experience. The personalized attention from "sweet and patient" teachers ensures that every student gets the foundational knowledge they need to succeed and gain confidence.
The studio's specialized focus on adult beginners is also a significant draw. It's a space where it's okay to have "zero experience" and where you can learn the fundamentals without feeling judged. This inclusive environment, coupled with the proven physical benefits of improved posture and balance, makes Everyday Ballet more than just a dance studio—it's a place for personal enrichment and well-being. For any New Yorker looking to learn ballet in a supportive, accessible, and high-quality environment, Everyday Ballet is an outstanding and highly recommended choice.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Tiekka is such a joy to take class with. She has a wonderful ability to make the techniques accessible to all levels (I had zero experience when I first took her class) and still make it challenging and informative. Be sure to be punctual as they have to buzz you in. So glad this studio exists for adult dancers and beginners
May 30 · Emily JensenClasses are small, usually around 10 people, the teachers help everyone equally. They specialize in adults who've never studied ballet before. Great for posture and balance. I took a classes at Steps and Alvin Ailey before but there were like 30 people in the classes so I didn't get much. Glad I found this place.
July 18 · Kathryn BirsteinBeing an absolute beginner, i had an amazing ballet barre class with Shoshanna. She gave a lot of practical advice and guidance. These movements seem easy from outside, but i was sweating a lot, though i do exercise regularly. The class is closer to classic ballet workout than to what you normally get in NYC barre studios. And amazing classic music makes the class a really awesome experience.
January 04 · Anna KlendarYou will LOVE it!!! Tiekka is awesome! I was a complete beginner and I was affraid of starting a ballet class as an adult. But this class is perfect, Tiekka makes you feel instantly comfortable. The content of the class is the same for one month so you have the time to learn and improve your movements. There is no judgment, you can learn at your own pace. This is definitely the perfect class for beginners.
July 29 · Sophie JovienHad a great experience at this studio. It's a bit of a cardio workout getting up the 5 flights of stairs, but you're there for the exercise anyways!Instructor was very helpful and welcoming. I'd say the class is probably best for someone who has taken ballet/dance classes before of someone who is willing to stick it out for a few classes to know the position names. Will definitely be back to the class.
