Bachata Lessons
The basics to the dance are three-step with a Cuban hip motion, followed by a tap including a hip movement on the 4th beat. The movement of the hips is very important because it’s a part of the soul of the dance.
Cha Cha Cha Lessons
Cha Cha’s tempo is anywhere from slow and staccato to fast and lively. It is very much an on-the-beat dance and hard not to inject one’s own feelings into it. This facet, more than any other, makes the dance fun for people of all ages.
Foxtrot Lessons
Harry Fox, a vaudeville dancer and comedian lent his name to the Foxtrot dance step. Fox was believed to be the first to use the “slow step,” hence… the birth of the Foxtrot. This first freestyle use of the “slow step” came into vogue around 1912, during the period of ragtime music.
Hustle Lessons
Hustle is danced to the contemporary pop dance music of the last 20 years. It is a fast, smooth dance, with the lady spinning almost constantly, while her partner draws her close and sends her away. Free rhythmic interpretation is characteristic of this dance.
Merengue Lessons
When couples get up to dance the Merengue, the man favored his left leg and the lady favored her right leg; while flexing their knees a bit more than usual and at the same time leaning the body slightly to the same side.
Salsa Lessons
Oozing with a sensuous style, Salsa has it all – passion, energy, and joy. As a dance form, Salsa has its origins in the Cuban Son and the Afro-Cuban dance, Rumba.
Swing Lessons
The Swing is a spot dance that does not move along the line of dance. Free rhythmic interpretation is characteristic, using single, double or triple rhythms. A relaxed shuffling movement and use of upper body sway is also used to highlight the Swing.

The Tango is a progressive dance where the staccato movement of the feet and flexed knees highlight the dramatic style of the dance. The Tango is one of the most highly stylized ballroom dances. It is dramatic with measured crossing and flexing steps and poised pauses.

My 7 year daughter Catalina has been learning to dance at Fred Astaire for about 8 months now. She has the most amazing dance instructor, Jojo! . She's not only her dance teacher, but a wonderful role model for Catalina. This studio is ALWAYS filled with positive energy and love for dancing. Its feels more like she gained a dance family and my daughter is happiest on their dance floor. I can't believe how many amazing dances she's learned thus far and the opportunities she's had to perform. I've noticed a huge boost in her confidence and memorization skills, which in turn has improved her abilities academically in school. Thank you Fred Astaire Marlboro!

Without sounding sappy, this studio is a life revelation for me. I walked into a place so full of love that it’s contagious. I was very tentative at first, passing by on my way to the gym that subsequently moved north. I still remember sneaking in thinking, “no way!!”Well I’m 2.5 months in, and my main instructor Rachel (the best and most beautiful teacher in any subject I’ve ever had) still has me floating around the floor like I’m skating on air.I gym regularly, and go on many adventures. This has been my favorite adventure in decades!This world is beautiful. Come to this studio, specifically, if you are looking for inspiration and a need to love yourself.

I woke up one day and said "Honey, I want to take dance lessons for our first wedding dance". Like always, he responded "sure honey". I was touched by the very first phone call to FADS Marlboro. Felicia was gracious and inviting. She told me no worries, that we could bring our 4 year old along whenever we needed. We went in for the trial. After meeting with the director Devyn and instructor Rachel, I couldn't wait to sign up. I had an overwhelming feeling that this was the place for me. Well, we took our lessons. Felicia invited our 4 year old Oliver to sit with her behind her desk. And Cristian, would sit on the floor and play cars with him :) Everyone in that studio was always caring and inviting. The team has so much character. The dancing was great. We learned so much and it was so so so much fun. It was the best decision we made. Our first dance was magical. We never thought we would ever do something like that. But let me get to the real heart of everything.... Rachel :) If I could adopt you Rachel, I would. You have my heart! You are an amazing teacher and an even more amazing person. Your dancing skills are great. Your teaching skills are phenomenal as well. We looked forward to each and every lesson with you and we had so much fun and so many laughs. You made it so easy. Fred Astaire Dance Studio Marlboro is the best place for Ballroom Dancing lessons! The dance instructors are truly professional and very knowledgeable. They will bring out the best in you. A big shout out to my instructor, Jose and alternate instructor, Jhodar, for helping me become a better dancer. Group classes are fun with Alberto. The owners, Devyn and Cristian, are supportive and thoughtful with their students. Felicia, the front desk lady, always welcomes everyone with a smile. Dancing at Fred Astaire Marlboro has been such a great experience for me. I've met new friends who share the same passion with me in dancing.
