What is worth choosing Green Space?
Choosing a dance space in New York City is a critical decision for any artist or instructor. Green Space, with its focus on providing a fundamental and functional environment, offers a compelling option for many reasons. Its primary value lies in its straightforward approach: it provides exactly what a dancer needs to practice and create. The open layout and dedicated space for dancing are its core strengths, making it a reliable choice for rehearsals and classes. For many professionals, a clean and unobstructed space is the most important factor, and Green Space delivers on that front.
The modern addition of virtual class and performance options also makes Green Space a forward-thinking choice. In today's digital world, the ability to livestream classes or host virtual shows is a huge advantage. This feature allows instructors to expand their reach beyond physical attendees and offers artists a platform to showcase their work to a global audience. This adaptability demonstrates that Green Space is keeping pace with the evolving needs of the performing arts industry.
However, it is important for potential renters to be aware of the feedback from past users. Several customer reviews raise serious concerns about the studio’s management, communication, and policies. The reviews mention accusations of floor damage without proof, rude judgment of dancers' skills, and poor communication, particularly regarding the use of mirrors. One reviewer described a situation where a portion of the mirror was blocked and accused of being a scam, while others felt disrespected and unfairly judged. These are significant issues that a potential renter should consider. The reviews suggest a possible disconnect between the owner's expectations and the renters' needs, particularly concerning the use of the space and how issues are handled. The accusation of being "judged" for how one dances is particularly unusual and concerning for a professional dance space.
Despite these potential issues, the studio's physical location and its stated services remain a draw for many. The convenience and accessibility in Long Island City are undeniable benefits for New York-based artists. The straightforward offering of a dance space for rent, along with its modern virtual capabilities, fulfills a key need in the market. While the provided reviews highlight a need for improved communication and clarity on rules, the fundamental service of providing a dance hall remains a valuable asset for the local artistic community. Therefore, prospective renters should be encouraged to communicate their needs and concerns clearly before booking to ensure a positive experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1When accusing us damaging the floor without any proof, most importantly she rudely judged our dance, I don’t understand why dose it even related? I didn’t know a security camera is used to look at how ur customers dance and judge them, funny enough. Also saying that we were acting like children, which also doesn’t make any sense, I didn’t know this studio has a age limit? Many people used the studio after and before us, but only picked us accusing us damaged the floor? Why? Because we seem young? Really disrespectful person to talk to, not even about the real issue but using other non-relative things to attack us, really disappointed!!
October 02 · JENNIERENTER BEWARE: The owner will block half of the mirror and accuse people of ruining the floor after moving what’s blocking the mirror for practicing reasons. No proof, no evidence, It’s a scam!Got called bad dancers because we wanted to see our whole body movement. If the situation about the mirror is listed on the website or informed prior, we won’t rent the space in the first place. No notice and didn’t answer phone calls about what was going on in the space. DO NOT COME, RUDE AND POOR COMMUNICATION.
October 02 · ZTMy time at Green Space has always left me inspired. It's a wonderful studio and the owner is so talented, passionate, and kind. I would definitely recommend for any inspiring and professional dancers.
October 26 · Naomi CosmanAttended Fertile Ground on January 21st. It’s a quaint studio space with a pretty view of midtown Manhattan. This would be a great space to hold rehearsal or a photo shoot.
January 22 · Olivia CancelliBeautiful space. Passionate, dedicated owner. An organization constantly giving back to the community. Couldn’t recommend more for a variety of classes to attend or performances to view.
