April 05 · Kimberly KapourellosThe dance teachers at this studio were absolutely wonderful—kind, patient, and genuinely passionate about working with the kids. They were the highlight of our time there. Unfortunately, everything else about our experience, particularly the management, was deeply disappointing. If your child isn’t on the competition team, it becomes clear very quickly that they are not a priority. Recreational dancers received little to no focus on technique during classes, and during recital season, the competition teams were given most of the stage time to rehearse while other dancers were sidelined. It felt like recreational families were simply funding the competition program rather than being treated as equally valued members of the studio. One of the most troubling issues involved how the studio handled media. Parents were told that photos and videos couldn’t be shared due to privacy concerns. Yet those same images were regularly posted on public social media accounts by the studio. When I respectfully asked to access the photos that were taken of our children, I was removed from the private parent group and ultimately dismissed from the studio entirely for voicing that opinion. The lack of transparency and the retaliatory response were incredibly upsetting.Throughout our time there, the studio owner repeatedly said one thing and did another, often contradicting her own stated values. Any attempts to ask questions or express concerns were either ignored or met with defensive, angry responses. It felt like there was no space for parent voices—only compliance. We left the studio feeling disrespected and disregarded, and like our child’s experience didn’t matter unless she was on the competition team winning awards. While I’m grateful for the dance teachers themselves, I would not recommend this studio under its current leadership.EDIT TO ADD A RESPONSE to the studio owner 7/24/25:I appreciate your response, but I feel it’s important to clarify some points that were either misrepresented or omitted.First, my review was not based on “personal feelings” but on our actual experience. While my child may have been new to dance, the concern wasn’t about her ability—it was about the vastly different treatment and opportunities provided to competition dancers versus recreational ones. My child and others were often sidelined during recital rehearsals and offered little to no technical instruction in class, regardless of their age or level. This was not explained clearly upfront.Regarding stage rehearsal time: I fully understand that different routines require different levels of rehearsal. My concern is that some dancers—specifically those not on the competition team—were barely given time to rehearse at all, making it feel like they were an afterthought. The issue with the photos and videos was not simply about access—it was about inconsistency and transparency. I was told parents could not have copies of the recital slideshow or any studio-taken photos due to “child safety.” Yet those same photos were posted publicly on your social media platforms. When I asked—respectfully—for access to images that included my own child, I was removed from the parent group and eventually from the studio altogether. That response was not only extreme but deeply hurtful. Finally, it’s not accurate to say I never raised concerns until after I was denied access to photos. I tried to communicate concerns at various points but was often met with defensiveness or completely ignored.I stand by my review and share it so other families can make informed decisions based on full transparency—not just curated appearances.I am happy to provide and upload screenshots of our email interactions with the studio owner and myself, that support everything I am saying.
July 24 · Courtney FergusonMy daughter loves it here, she looks forwarding to going every week. I homeschool her right now and I’m very weary about letting her go places that are unfamiliar, so finding this company has been amazing. The owner and instructors are great, couldn’t imagine my kid going anywhere else.
April 11 · Brooke DowlingWe have been with Ignite for 4 years now and all of my kids that have danced there have loved it. My daughter started with a ballet/tap class when she was just 3 and her love for dance has grown every single year. She now takes ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop and acro. My 10 year old son did hip hop for a year and still will show off his breakdancing moves he learned there. My oldest son was on the competition team for 2 years and he grew so much in dance over those years. The instructors there are absolutely amazing and we love being part of the Ignite dance family.
