It is important for prospective students and their families to consider the full picture when choosing a dance studio. While some online reviews for Just Cause Dancers, Inc. present conflicting views on the atmosphere and management, the range of opinions highlights that experiences can be highly subjective. One positive review from a self-described "official JCD member" expresses a profound sense of belonging and family, praising the welcoming nature of the team and coach. This individual states that they have felt nothing but a family since joining and highly recommends the studio for its supportive environment, intellectual competence, and commitment to delivering on what is promised. This perspective emphasizes a strong sense of community and loyalty among a portion of the student body, suggesting that for many, the studio provides a deeply meaningful and positive experience.
Conversely, a different review describes the environment as highly unprofessional and toxic, citing concerns about the coach's behavior, a lack of communication, and the cleanliness of the facilities. This review highlights issues with a lack of professionalism and what the reviewer perceived as a demeaning attitude toward the dancers. It is clear that experiences at any organization can vary, and it is a good practice for interested parties to visit in person, observe classes, and speak with current students and parents to form their own informed opinion. The presence of both positive and negative feedback underscores the need for individuals to weigh all available information and determine what aligns with their personal values and expectations for a dance school. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1If I could give this company zero stars, I would. The overall environment at this organization is highly unprofessional and toxic. The coach, JoJo, consistently displays mean-spirited and disrespectful behavior, both toward her own children and the dancers she is supposed to support. She lacks sportsmanship and professionalism, and her conduct during practices is deeply concerning. For example, she scheduled an 8-hour rehearsal on the Sunday before Memorial Day without providing food or even water for the dancers — yet she made sure to buy food for herself. The way she speaks to the team is demeaning and inappropriate. Her language is often immature and classless, and she seems to take pleasure in embarrassing her dancers rather than building them up.The person who appears to manage finances or administrative tasks is equally unwelcoming — always dressed the same, disinterested, and seemingly annoyed to even be present. The space itself is poorly maintained, with unsanitary bathrooms and young children running around during practices, creating a chaotic and unsafe atmosphere.Perhaps most ironic is that JoJo frequently criticizes others for “negative behavior,” while exhibiting some of the most toxic behavior in the room. I asked a parent about team-building activities and was told there haven't been any in the past three or four years. For someone who carries herself with such arrogance, there is very little to show for it in terms of leadership or community. This experience has been deeply disappointing, and I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere if they want a healthy, professional, and supportive environment for their children.
May 29 · Ashley JeffersonEver since I joined this dance team in September it has been nothing but a family to me. At first I didn’t know how I was going to like it but then they welcomed me in with open arms I recommend sending your child here the parents are welcoming the team and even the coach the team is always open to growth and intellectually competent I love being a official JCD member and for those who say the owner might play with your money your a lie she don’t play with nobody money whatever you pay for you are going to get it but I say all this to say JCD IS A STUPENDOUS AND AWESOME TEAM AND I RECOMMEND THAT YOU JOIN YOU WANT BE DISAPPOINTED.🫶🏽🫶🏽
November 08 · Jamar StuckeyWhere do I begin lol this place was interesting from start to finish. I called and spoke with someone several times, asking questions, confirming enrollment date and time to get my kids signed up for ballet and hip hop. Showed up on time, was told that the lady who does enrollment wasn't there but on her way, waited 20-30 mins and she did not show up. I left my information on paperwork which had nothing mentioned of hip hop or ballet. It appeared I was given the wrong packet with wrong pricing and nothing to do with what I was signing up for so I was told just put my number down and someone will call me.This studio is dedicated to the majorette dancers. I'm not sure why they say that they offer ballet and hip hop because it's clear that they don't. Lol. The person who was supposed to enroll my kids never got back to me after I left my info. Not even tripping about the fact that there were dogs in the studio. One was so huge it caught me off guard but I was like whatever I like dogs but then I noticed the puddle of piss on the floor which had me questioning the cleanliness and hygiene of the facility. They don't know who could be allergic to dogs though so it was unprofessional to have them there. A lot of non-mask wearing children and adult also. After that you would think I would have stayed clear away from this place right? Nope I still tried to give them a chance because for one, there is not many black hip hop dance studios in the area. I wanted to support and two, even though the first class we were told to show up to was canceled the day of, the one instructor that did actually call to inform me me was very friendly, understanding and apologetic. He charged me a reduced fee and still have my child a private session even though the class itself had been cancelled. While there I confirmed that the ballet class was still happening as I had been told several times that ballet is on Sundays at 3pm. Confirmed 2-3 more times that week AND guess what happened again? The day of the class, I happened to be texting with the instructor ( the only one who is responsive who gave my child a private session) he told me that they had cancelled ballet. So once again my child was disappointed. They do not have solid times scheduled for ballet or hip hop. It's all about the majorette dancers. The studio is small so they cannot really have more than one class at once which is fine but the inconsistency is a big problem. And at that point I was over it. The communication is very poor, it's extremely unorganized and dysfunctioal. Hopefully they get it together bcs they seemed nice but just need A LOT and I mean A WHOLE LOT of work professionally.
