When considering a performing arts school in New York, it is important to weigh all aspects of the experience. Choosing the right environment is crucial for a child's development, both artistically and personally. According to some reviews from real customers, there have been concerns raised regarding the attitude of the administration, with words like "arrogant" and "condescending" being used to describe staff interactions. Some parents have felt that the focus of the school is on money rather than on the students' well-being, citing issues with demanding payment and what they perceive as overpriced costumes. For some parents, these concerns about professionalism and the overall environment are significant. The belief that a school's treatment of parents reflects how they treat children is a valid point of consideration for families looking for a positive and respectful learning space.
However, it is also important to note that the school has been a long-standing part of the community, which may suggest that other families have had different experiences over its many years in operation. The school has a broad range of programs, including ballet, hip hop, and musical theater, which provides a comprehensive curriculum for aspiring performers. They offer specific classes like "Pre-School Ballet" and "Boy's Hip Hop" which shows an effort to be inclusive of different age groups and interests. The option to pay with debit cards adds a layer of convenience for parents. Ultimately, choosing a performing arts school is a personal decision, and it is recommended that potential students and their families consider all available information, including both the stated offerings and the feedback from the community, to determine if it is the right fit for their needs and values.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I cannot recommend Landrum School of Dance to anyone due to the blatantly arrogant attitude of the administration. From the very first interaction, it was clear that they think they’re doing you a favor by letting you enroll, rather than treating you with respect as a paying customer. The staff’s condescending tone and dismissive responses make every encounter frustrating and unprofessional. When it comes to asking for fees, their lack of professionalism is glaring. The admin seems more concerned about demanding payments than fostering any sense of community or understanding. The overpriced costumes only add insult to injury, making it clear their priority is money, not the students. If you value respect, professionalism, and a positive environment for your child, avoid this place at all costs.
December 03 · Deni DulaThe staff are Arrogant! Arrogant! Arrogant! For them its all about money!!!! Specially the old lady who managed or owned the place or whatever. Won't ever recommend this place to any parents who plans to enroll their child for ballet. They are only excited to get your money... if only i could give it negative star, I would. read other reviews if you don't believe me.If they dont know how to treat parents nicely how would you expect them to treat your kids there???Scary and Horrible!!!
December 03 · Reycel MarcellaWhat an absolutely amazing ballet school! Has to be the best in queens! This was our first full year and the recital was last night! What can I say.... Just AMAZING! It was like watching a show on Broadway or better, can I say, a show from the American Ballet Theater!!!!!! A group of talented young men and woman put on a beautiful and artistic show all around. Kudos to the arts and theater department. My daughters were in only act 1 and I just had to stay until the end of the show! With a remarkable Wizard of Oz performance!!!! But the best part of it was when I picked up my daughters at the end of the night they were so proud of themselves and so happy. Not only are they learning an art, but they are learning to be part of a team!!! At last, this is one of the best confidence builders for a young child and I know my daughters will never have stage fright or be afraid to fail! I am very, very happy with Landrum! My regards to the staff and hard working teachers!! Can't wait until September!!!!
June 09 · Maria KiropoulosThis is my second year in Landrum. Today was the picture day with the outfit for the recital dance a long with whole group. The appointment was supposed to be at 5 pm but they never call us ahead to notify us they were running late with appointments like about 3 hrs. The owner never came to the parents to apologize about the delay. On top of that when it was my daughter turn for the invidual picture they refused to do it because I did not give the payment slip ahead of time, when I had the payment on my hands at that moment. This situation was not new because they accepted to drop the payment slip off on the same days the picture. What happen was they screwed up the whole appointments during the whole day accepting people who did not even signed ahead for an appointment picture. Therefore, we had to pay the consequences of the whole mess. This situation was so disrespectful towards the parents and the kids. This appointment was on Sunday and we left Landrum by 8:45 pm. When my kid goes to bed by 8:00 pm and they did not have any consideration with the parents and the kids. So at the end we left Landrum without a picture taken because they wanted us to wait at the end of everybody due to the payment was not done ahead, despite we had an appointment. They changed their mind because they were tired.
March 19 · Lina SchneideI have been at Landrum since I was seven and I never had a problem! The teachers staff and students are so supportive and respectful. There’s nothing better than the Landrum family and from dance to singing to acting it’s the best performing arts studio💗
