★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Environment is nice, and the instructors seem passionate. While the class I'm enrolled in is educational, the instructor appears to be used to teaching those with some background or familiarity, whereas beginners or those with special needs requiring more effort can feel singled out for making mistakes. It would be nice if future classes could be transitioned into 1:1 lessons, or beginners level classes were offered (bachata basic 1 spends more work on technical, which is fun and helpful, but still feels more advanced than advertised).
January 18 · Matt CastonThis is so. much more than a place to learn latin dance--it is a strong community of people who love to learn dance and love to help others learn. The teachers are professional and fun. The studio hosts bi-weekly social dances that give us all a chance to practice with each other as well as with experienced dancers who are also willing to dance with the newbies, like me. I recently took a private lesson with Jorge, one of the instructors, to get a "boost" in my salsa dance skills and it was extremely helpful! Jorge really gave me more confidence and the encouragement I needed at a point when I was struggling a bit in class. Between the support of my classmates and this one-on-one focus with Jorge, I am even more committed to continuing my latin dance journey. I highly recommend you check out this studio, lead by the Maricza, the CEO and Artistic Director, for 25 years. I am honored to have Maricza as my salsa teacher!
March 09 · Tanya RhoneMaricza is one of the best salsa dancers I’ve ever met—and it translates so well into her teaching skills. She makes class fun and I’d highly recommend this studio to anyone looking to start dancing. My husband and I joined as beginners and love it! It’s 1000000% worth trying out!!
January 04 · G Z"I was incredibly disappointed with my experience at Latin Rhythms. After years of wanting to learn salsa, I was excited to purchase a Groupon for classes. Unfortunately, my enthusiasm quickly faded.Communicating with the company was frustrating. Emails from Roselin, the representative I contacted, were short and unhelpful, lacking any sense of customer service. The emails were replied, 'as it states in the Groupon." That can come off rude and dismissive.I was told to come in for a practice session to determine my class level, but the atmosphere was cold and unwelcoming. The front desk staff seemed annoyed by my presence. I had arrived 5 minutes prior to opening and was told to leave and come back because they were not open yet. When I did come back she still came off annoyed and unwelcoming. The instructor for the practice session was great, but the overall experience was so negative that I decided not to continue with classes. It's a shame, as I was genuinely eager to learn."
August 02 · Nory FitI am a long time student, this is one of the best places to learn to dance latin music in Chicago. They also offer salsa parties(socials) do students can practice their skills
