80s
★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I came across Marie Wildey’s IG page and was literally moved to tears when I saw Ms. Darlyn in a reel during the COVID shutdown. I danced at MWD in the late 80s - mid 90s and I still have VHS tapes of our recital at Newark Symphony Hall! I was an insecure kid, but Ms. Darlyn made me feel…. Seen! My fav dance routine was the “Hand Give” routine! We had the cutest poodle skirts (think Grease)! It was sooo epic!!!! Thank you Ms. Darlyn for devoting your life to us, MDW, and inspiring little brown girls like me!
July 05 · Mel DavisI went here as a child from the mid-80's onward. My older sister and cousin were there before me. Miss Marie was my first and possibly second year teacher for tap. After that I had Miss Darlynn for Jazz for the next several years. Great memories performing at Symphony Hall and singing "Applause, Applause" at the end. From the looks at some of the recent pictures - they may still sing it! I'm so glad they're still going strong!
May 16 · Janelle LeeBoth my daughters and niece attended Marie Wildey School of Dance from the 70’s- 90’s with Ms Marie and Ms. Darlyn The entire staff was very professional..the best dance school around and still is! The recitals were awesome! Our family moved to Atlanta area…however if we still lived in Jersey, no doubt my granddaughter would be training to dance at Marie Wildey!

November 02 · Bette AshmoreGenerations of families have gained dance foundational skills from this establishment. Skills that have lead dancers to achieve high levels of proficiency which enabled them to become members of Performing Arts schools & dance companies, attaining dance scholarships to college, and to having professional dance careers (in various areas). The office staff is professional and courteous.
