Mary Flynn Murphy Dance Studio Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This was my daughter’s first dance studio and after switching to another for a full year, I feel I can write a well informed review. The studio spaces are great and I love that the windows are covered so passersby can’t peer in during classes. There is an area where parents can wait but the bench seating can be uncomfortable for an hour. The teachers and their helpers are really sweet, although ballet can be a bit strict, with some yelling involved, which I hear is typical. The parts I did not like…the nickel and diming for every little thing. Every part of the recital is a money grab for things that are outdated, i.e. pictures and performance videos are on DVDs and thumb drives that take months to be delivered. Memorabilia tshirts are not included and must be bought. Tickets are of typical price but none are included for your family. A trophy is given for your child’s milestone years but they start at five years and guess what, you are responsible for letting the studio know, instead of the studio tracking it. I also felt that my child attending this studio was thought of as a privilege and parents are not always treated like the customers we are. I think a reimagining of the process and streamlining end of the year festivities would be helpful for parents. Bringing the website and tech based services to modern day expectations would also be a benefit.
May 16 · Elle DhiGreat teachers.Cost for little kid for 1 hour/week is 70 per month + 85 for their costume. It's a drop in class. Can't see what happens in class, so they have 2 sessions during the year during which parents are allowed in the class.Parking is a bit tough though as there are little mtered spots on the street
May 03 · Agapi AgapiThe studio has great classes for kids! Our daughter has taken classes here since she was one, starting with Wiggle Worms. She has taken Tumbling (one of her favorites) and Hip Hop, in addition to ballet, jazz & tap. The camps there are also fun! The teachers are wonderful and kind, and make an effort to support & include everyone. The older dancers help the younger dancers, which I love. According to my daughter, “it’s a great way to make new friends”.
August 05 · Cindy LeeGreat dance school. The staff is so friendly and wonderful. My little one started 2 years ago and she loves it. Feels like a big dance family!!
July 28 · Argiro MagoufisWe’ve been at this dance school for two years and I really appreciate how positive the teachers are. They are very dedicated to their work but it’s also a more laid back environment than some of the other dance studios that I looked into.
