Miami Dance Collective Introduce
Located in the charming community of Pinecrest, Miami Dance Collective is a dance school dedicated to the art and discipline of movement. As a women-owned business, the studio provides a comprehensive and diverse range of programs designed to cater to dancers of all ages and abilities, from young children taking their first steps to advanced students with professional aspirations. The curriculum is meticulously crafted to build a strong foundation in various dance styles, ensuring every student has the opportunity to grow, learn, and express themselves.
The studio’s offerings are structured to accommodate two main levels of commitment: the Studio Program for recreational dancers and the Company Program for those seeking a more rigorous, pre-professional path. This dual approach ensures that whether a student is dancing for enjoyment or training for a career, they receive tailored instruction that meets their specific goals. The diverse class schedule, which includes everything from classical ballet to contemporary jazz and even Pilates, reflects the studio’s commitment to providing a well-rounded and versatile dance education.
The Miami Dance Collective’s professional approach is evident in its commitment to high-quality training and performance. The instructors, choreographers, and staff are dedicated to fostering a professional and friendly atmosphere. As one reviewer noted, it is a "Professionally run dance studio with friendly atmosphere, great teachers and choreographers. Highly recommend!" This kind of feedback highlights the studio's focus on creating an environment that is both serious about the art form and supportive of its students. The studio also offers unique opportunities such as intensive summer programs and training with guest choreographers, which further enrich the learning experience.
However, it is important to acknowledge that like any large community, individual experiences can vary. A separate review expressed a different perspective, citing a "very toxic environment" and "a lot of favoritism," which they felt made the studio "unfair and discouraging." This reviewer noted that they would not recommend the studio for a "supportive or professional experience." While this view stands in contrast to the positive testimonials, it is a part of the public record and worth noting for a balanced perspective. It underscores the importance of a personal visit or a trial class to determine if the studio's environment aligns with a student's individual needs and preferences.
Despite varying opinions on the studio culture, the quality and breadth of the training programs at Miami Dance Collective remain a constant. The curriculum’s depth, from foundational ballet to music composition, offers a unique opportunity for dancers to gain a comprehensive understanding of their craft. It is a place where aspiring performers can build a strong technical base, develop individual artistry, and prepare for a potential career in dance or a university program.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The teachers bullied some of the students, this studio has an very toxic environment instead of a safe place to dance. I would not recommend this studio to anyone looking for a supportive or professional experience. There is also a lot of favoritism, which makes the studio feel unfair and discouraging. This is not a healthy or supportive place to grow as a dancer, and I would not recommend spending your money here.
August 16 · EllaProfessionally run dance studio with friendly atmosphere, great teachers and choreographers. Highly recommend!
August 23 · Ana and Mark SalibTo all the hard-working dance moms out there who think it’s all the same at every dance studio, and that you should just stay where you are, that it won’t be any different - it’s not true. It’s not the same everywhere, I thought it was too, but I was wrong. You and your kid put in a lot of time, effort and love into this passion, and you deserve better. You deserve professionalism and to be met with the same passion, dedication and love of dance. That’s why you deserve to experience Miami Dance Collective and their instructors. They bring the same energy, dedication and respect that they expect of their students, to their classes every day. It’s an unparalleled artistry, you have to experience. The transparency, organization and professionalism you’re looking for is here, I promise you.
October 19 · Katherine ShepherdAs my daughter just graduated from Miami Dance Collective & danced with Ms. Marie & Ms. Kristin for the last 9 years I can say that this studio is not only a dance studio but has been a home & a family. Beyond the professional faculty and devoted staff, Marie & Kristin (founders) are making sure the dancers have access to national educators & choreographers. Driving from Miami Beach was worth it!
August 10 · Lilian AratenIf you are looking for a school that has incredible techniques across the board for all styles, Miami Dance Collective is the BEST in Miami. I am Theatre instructor at a University and worked professionally on Broadway in five shows (Miss Saigon, Rent, Saturday Night fever, Aida, and Lennon) Team, focus, discipline, and process are values engaged with the students. They commend work, not awards (although they have many) and stress that process is more important that winning awards. The outstanding teachers also teach about dancer mentality and the need to support with the best courtesy to all within the dance community. We lift each other up, not down. Marie and Kristin have built an incredible environment. Also, they have Ms. Irene who is One of the best BALLET teachers I have ever met. My daughter is in love with this place. Don’t walk—run and register!
