★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Park Slope Performing Arts is a wonderful place for children to express themselves and showcase their creativity! Before starting our own child in classes at PSPA, we had attended many of our nephew's performances and we knew it would be a great place for our sons to explore theater one day! Now (at ages 8 and 5) they have both attended multiple summer camp programs and classes during their school year semesters and we have always been so happy! Mr. Lincoln, Ms. Erin, Ms. Rebecca and all the staff are patient, kind, and encouraging, they make all children feel welcome and comfortable and we are so lucky to have them run this incredible gem of a place! This past weekend we attended the annual spring showcase and we were so impressed! Each student got their moment to shine in a small, intimidate setting unlike some dance/theater schools that have large groups and endless acts jammed into one performance. We were in tears by the end of the show after watching a slideshow of their graduating students memories from all their former years at PSPA- it just reminded us what a special place it is. Small businesses are so important to this community and we hope to see PSPA flourish for many more years to come!!
June 16 · Colleen CoyneSuch an amazing place! I have sent both my kids here since they were small (3 and 5), and this year my eldest (now 13) celebrated his 8th year with them. The lovely owners are thoughtful, talented educators and artists, and know how to really connect with young people from toddlers to teens. The vibe is close-knit and family like, and they are very kid-focused (parents are not allowed to linger). They helped instill both a love of and appreciation for the arts, as well as a strong sense of self-confidence in both my kids. My eldest is now going to a performing arts high school, thanks in no small part to what he has learned at PSPA!
June 16 · Michele ForbesI love PSPA! I’ve watched my kids grow as performers and humans beings. PSPA grows their students’ confidence, prepares them for being on stage while fostering a love for musical theater. My kids carry their PSPA skills into debate, rock band and any other performing opportunity . This family, women owned business is rooted in the love of teaching (their teachers at schools!) and organized to provide a non competitive community. The goal is to get kids up on stage and to feel the love of performing and the community of musical theater. So no competition teams here. But kids learning in a supportive and nurturing studio.
June 16 · Sarah RobbWe have been active in PSPA for nearly 8 years. I can’t say enough positive things about the women who run this program for our children. The Rice’s make each student feel like family and have curated such a welcoming, loving, and inclusive organization. We’re so grateful for PSPA! Can’t wait for next years performances!
June 16 · Jaymie KellyMy 17 month old son and I attend the Mini Musicians drop-in class together when we can. We love the convenience of being able to pop in when it best suits our schedule.During the class, my son is highly engaged. He loves all of the songs, instruments, and teachers. He also loves that he can explore independently at times. The studio is clean, and it is a warm and welcoming environment. Thank you for helping him to learn, grow, and experience music!
