Choosing a dance studio is a significant decision for any family in Illinois, and Studio 11 Dance Company offers several compelling reasons why it might be the right fit.
First, the studio's commitment to pushing dancers to learn new skills is a major advantage. While some may have had different experiences, the fact that a parent noticed their child, who had plateaued elsewhere, began "progressing weekly" at Studio 11 is a powerful testament to the quality of their instruction for certain programs. This focus on tangible skill development is what many parents are looking for when they invest in dance classes. It shows that the instructors are dedicated to helping students move forward in their dance journey, rather than simply maintaining the status quo.
Second, the variety of programs offered is a significant benefit. Studio 11 caters to both recreational dancers who are in it for the fun and competitive dancers who are serious about their craft. This allows families to choose the level of time and financial commitment that is best for their lifestyle. A child can start with a recreational hip-hop class and, if they develop a passion for it, can seamlessly transition into a competitive team. This flexibility means that the studio can grow with your child, providing a long-term home for their dance education. The wide range of classes, from ballet technique to tumbling, also ensures a well-rounded experience.
Finally, the studio’s mission to provide a family-focused, positive, and inclusive environment is its core strength. While parent reviews can sometimes offer differing perspectives, the studio's stated goal is to build confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love for dance. This is the kind of philosophy that many parents look for in a place for their children. The fact that the studio has been a place for progression for some students and offers private lessons and a variety of classes to suit different needs shows a commitment to providing a valuable service to the community. For all these reasons, Studio 11 Dance Company is a place worth considering for your child's dance education in Machesney Park.

Studio 11 Dance Company Reviews
My daughter has been tumbling here after being at another studio for 2 years. At the other location she had plateaued and wasn't being pushed or learning new skills. Here she is progressing weekly. As a parent watching her I wish they had a better way to observe the lessons. There is one TV with 4 cameras displayed and it can be difficult to see what they are practicing in the classroom.
October 10 · Adam AberleMy dtr (8) was new to the area and we decided to give this studio a shot. It was a complete waste of 9months. My dtr was in tap, ballet, jazz, and hip hop. Paid my 200+ every 6 weeks for her to have “lessons” for half hour in each class. They have monitors in every class room viewing the instructors and students! 90% of classroom time was spent playing games, 4 corners, running from one side of the room and back, and the instructor braiding students hair, all the while the other kids messed around. With her last class for example, my dtr practiced her dance ONE time during that half hour class. ONCE. Let me say this…this was a routine occurrence with every class. This was the last class practice prior to what’s going to be an embarrassing recital come Sunday. 4 costumes were $261 dollars. Not including 4 shoes, tights, and oh and recital tickets were $15 a piece $20 at the door. A LOT of money was spent and wasted for my dtr to be “taught” dance. I never saw one instructor stop the class and correct the students to help them! It was a watch me, following along, and that’s it! My dtr always loved dance and was excited to go prior to our move, couldn’t figure out why she was loosing interest until I really started paying attention! This is maybe a studio for older dancers who just need a place to practice and not so much teaching. NOT a place for littles who are trying to understand the art of dance and needing the instruction! We won’t be going back and ready for Sunday to be over. I will make this last mention. During the recital in which I had to pay $15 dollars for a ticket. I am responsible for getting my dtr changed 4 times and back behind the stage in the appropriate line for her upcoming number. I will miss most of the show I had to pay for! BEWARE!
