I have a 3yr old that I signed up for dance and it’s the first activity that she has ever been signed up to and all the parents of the dancers were so eager and happy to see their children practice but they do not tell you when you sign up that you can not watch your child practice at all from outside the door nor do they provide a television to watch them from the waiting area like they do for the older gymnastic class. The class is only 4 weeks long and it would have been special to be able to watch them. So sad and total waste of money. - Zylkia Ruiz

YWCA New Britain Introduce

The YWCA New Britain is a cornerstone of the Central Connecticut community, serving as a dynamic hub for women, children, and families from all backgrounds since its establishment in 1910. As a membership-based movement, the YWCA is on a mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and stand up for social justice, helping families and strengthening communities. This is much more than a childcare agency; it's a multi-faceted organization that offers a wide range of programs designed to support and uplift everyone it serves. From licensed, accredited childcare and youth development programs to a state-of-the-art fitness center and a thriving school of dance, the YWCA provides a safe and inclusive environment for people of all ages to learn, grow, and thrive. The organization's commitment to its core values is evident in every program and service, making it a true "gem" in the New Britain community, as described by a satisfied customer. By providing resources that address the diverse needs of the population, including services for a growing number of Spanish and Polish speaking participants, the YWCA New Britain is a pillar of support and a beacon of hope for thousands of individuals each year.

While the YWCA New Britain offers a wide variety of services, it is their childcare and youth programs that are particularly noteworthy, with one reviewer highlighting the "dedicated teachers" who make the "preschool and childcare classes unbeatable." The YWCA of New Britain's innovative Childcare Incubator Project is an example of their forward-thinking approach to addressing community needs. This award-winning program supports childcare entrepreneurs as they launch and build their businesses, helping to fill the childcare gap in the city. While a customer expressed sadness about not being able to watch their child's dance practice, this feedback points to the high demand and parental enthusiasm for the programs. The review from a parent wishing they could watch their child's dance class reflects the passion and excitement that the YWCA's performing arts programs generate. Despite this one critique, another customer's description of the YWCA as a "gem" highlights the organization's overall positive impact and trusted reputation in the community, with its commitment to a "no judgement" environment and a diverse range of offerings for people of all ages and abilities. The YWCA is dedicated to ensuring that every person who walks through its doors feels supported and empowered to reach their full potential.
