American Dance Academy Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I am writing this review, which I never do, to ensure you and your children do not suffer the same painful experiences that we and many others in my daughters class had to experience with ADA this year. If I could give zero stars, I would. Everything about this "business" was run completely unprofessionally. From the staff, to the owners, and one very incapable teacher. For years, both myself and my daughter have danced at fantastic studios with talented teachers, caring staff, and incredible ownership. At ADA, we found none of those things. Some teachers were inappropriate and lacked the very basic dance knowledge to be able to teach even the youngest dancers. The staff talked about one another very poorly and non-stop. The staff was harassing with late night calls and demanding that, even when our children were very sick- they must still attend class or be removed from their opportunity to compete. No compassion or common sense. The owner is completely out of the loop on all things yet swoops in to make illogical decisions that negatively impact the children and only informs the parents with an email, if that. She has personally promised to reimburse funds that were charged and owed back, and never returned them nor returns communication. There are so many incredible studios out there, chose any but this one.
June 17 · Kelly HickoffADA is a technique focused dance studio with age appropriate costumes and music! I have been a dance teacher for 20 years (so I am picky about my daughter's dance experience). We have had a great three years at ADA. I also want to say that the mom's from my daughter's class are kind, helpful and make a great team. The girls are all very supportive of each other and work very hard. The older dancers are amazing to watch at competition and recital and have many accolades/awards. Keep up the good work ADA staff.
August 06 · Angela SpaceGreat dance instruction and wonderful instructors. My daughter has been taking classes here for five years and will continue. The studio just celebrated its 40th year (same owners!), and their passion and commitment to excellence is obvious. My daughter is being taught dance skills, a good work ethic, and setting and achieving goals by teachers with high expectations who really know their material and care about their students. What more could a parent ask for?
June 23 · Lee HOur daughter attended a summer camp and had an absolute blast! This was our first time at this studio and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience from the friendly staff to the activities they did during the week and the end of week performance to show what they learned. The coordination for the girls to have matching outfits at the end of the week was definitely the extra mile, so fun to see and the girls loved it!
July 24 · Kari McCartneyMy daughter is just completing her first dance camp at ADA's South Lyon location. The owner worked with me when my daughter got ill and had to miss her week of classes I had initially signed her up for, which I was extremely thankful. It is her first experience at a dance studio and I am happy to see what she has learned in such a short amount of time and how happy she is when I pick her up. I will be looking into dance classes here in the Fall for her.
