★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I'll start by saying: my 5 year old daughter went to Bayer last school year. The teachers are professional, the shows are beautiful. So professionally I have no complaints. My problem is with their attitude and financial fairness. The tuition has to be paid in full upon registration, no cancellations and no refunds under any circumstances. Is it not a secret that kids can change their minds, people might have to move away due to work change or other reasons. Bayer does not accept any excuses. So be prepared to pay a lot of money upfront. I saw a few parents forcing their kids to go into class even if they cried and it broke my heart, I guess it's related to the fact that they already paid and didn't want to lose the money. For advanced pre ballet track you'll find yourself paying close to $4k upfront.Second, in 2024-2025 the classes were supposed to end on June 10th but instead they ended on May 29th without an explanation, and parents didn't get an automatic refund for the missing classes. After I caught the mistake I emailed them and they offered me to take additional classes over the summer. But it's only thanks to me paying attention to details. Be prepared to read their contract thoroughly.Third, your kids' school breaks might not align with their breaks so if you're going way on vacation for Spring break for example, expect to miss some rehearsals. Last year those were rehearsals for a concert and it was annoying they did it this way.Lastly, there's zero communication between the instructors and the parents which I don't like. You can't watch the classes, you don't see the instructor before or after your class, and then you might find that your child who's the shortest in class is places in the last row in the show and can barely be seen from the audience. Very annoying. That being said, my daughter enjoys going to classes and she gains good ballet skills, the location is convenient for us, so we signed her up for an additional year.
June 23 · Mila GorodetskyBayer Ballet offers excellent ballet training and performance opportunities for kids. My daughter joined their classes at the age of four and half. So far it’s been her favorite after school activity. As a parent, I am glad to see that they do weekly fitness routines, which help kids build strong core, as well as posture. The annual stage performance is the highlight of the year. They get so much fun and growth out of the experience. All in all, a great organization that offers excellence in ballet.Maggie Ma
June 29 · Maggie Ma - Expert RealtorThe director is EXTREMELY toxic and screams and berates students!!! Don't believe the social media. The toxic environment stems from the director. Rehearsals are dragged out and schedules say stretching etc but most aremt focused on that.
June 28 · summerangelWith Bayer Ballet Academy's intense training program, they really push their students to reach their full potential. The instructors, all of whom are esteemed professionals in the ballet community, bring a wealth of experience and dedication to the classroom. You can see this dedication in the amazing successes their students achieve. My daughter started ballet at 10, had 3 years of training, and went from knowing nothing to winning 1st place at YAGP. Bayer's training has led to many top prizes in competitions and incredible productions. Bayer's students have earned scholarships for leading dance programs, secured positions in prestigious companies globally, and gained admission to renowned colleges.Besides the technical skills, Bayer instills a deep love for ballet, creating not just great dancers but real ballet ambassadors. Its students have grown into better people because of ballet. It's a warm and loving environment. My daughter has made so many great friends at Bayer. 😊
March 04 · mei liangMy daughter is a student of BBA for the past 12 years. She is a participant of national and international ballet competition, as well as a recipient of summer school scholarships to various European and US ballet schools. She's always recognized as "Bayer" student wherever she goes, all thanks to Ms. Inna Bayer and Bayer team of classical, character and contemporary dance teachers, as well as a plethora of international visiting guest teachers. Every BBA company production is an anticipated and exciting event for the ballet lovers throughout SF Bay Area, and the audience is never limited to the performers' parents alone, but rather is the one of a respected ballet company. The school is fully dedicated to the highest standards of classical ballet education, in the best traditions, but not limited to, Vaganova method. It is very true that BBA requires a reciprocity from their students, in terms of dedication and diligence. If you are looking for fun and easy pastime after school activity for your child, this school is probably not for you. But if you want your child to get the best professional attention and want to see them progress and excel, BBA is the school for you.
