What is worth choosing Body Language Dance Co
While Body Language Dance Co offers a large variety of dance classes and programs, some past customers have shared experiences that are important for prospective students and their families to consider. The provided reviews highlight some specific concerns regarding the quality of instruction and the focus on certain dance styles. One former student's parent noted a perceived lack of emphasis on proper technique, particularly for non-competition dancers. They stated, "My daughters both learned more their first year at their current dance studio verses years at BLDC." This review also mentioned a difference in the number of dances taught and recitals held, noting that their children learned only one dance at BLDC, compared to two at their new studio.
Another review raises a specific concern about the ballet program, stating that it is "not a strong studio if looking for the absolute foundation of dance." The reviewer, whose daughter attended for 11 years, felt that their child was "way behind in ballet for her age from this studio." These reviews point to a potential area of consideration for families, especially those prioritizing foundational and classical dance training. While the studio offers a wide array of classes, these specific accounts suggest that the depth of instruction may vary across different genres and programs.
For families in the Jenison and surrounding West Michigan areas, it is helpful to weigh these factors against the studio's offerings, such as its diverse class schedule, including recreational and competitive programs, and its modern aerial arts classes. The ability to pay with credit and debit cards and the physical accessibility of the facility are also points of convenience. Ultimately, choosing a dance studio is a personal decision, and these varied customer experiences provide valuable insight for families as they determine if Body Language Dance Co is the right fit for their child's dance education goals, particularly if they are seeking a strong foundation in classical ballet or a broader range of performance opportunities.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My daughters were both former students and except for one teacher, the teachers there don't care about teaching the proper techniques and making sure they really know their steps unless they are competition dancers. My daughters both learned more their first year at their current dance studio verses years at BLDC. Also, my daughters learn two dances every year and have two recitals every year versus only one dance at BLDC.
November 20 · RebeccaDaughter there for 11 years. Left studio recently due to the lack of education, knowledge and direction with ballet.. Not a strong studio if looking for the absolute foundation of dance. Ballet they fall so behind. My daughter is way behind in ballet for her age from this studio.
November 20 · NicolePI've been involved at Body Language since they opened in Jenison. My daughters have both been given excellent technical training in a caring, nurturing environment. One daughter is now pursuing a dance degree in college. I had such a great experience as a dance parent that now that my daughters are no longer dancing there, I'm taking adult classes. Would not consider any other studio in the Grand Rapids area.
July 13 · Amy BerridgeI would not recommend this place as a former dancer, they are way off on when they start the girls on pointe and there are much better options in the area. They create an environment that is damaging to very vulnerable young girls. The ballet teacher Ms .Hollie is living in the past and is creating scary tactics to the girls, as she runs a class around favorites. Run to another studio.
October 20 · Whitney HinesMy daughter is entering her 6th year of dance and absolutely loves it!! The progress she makes every year is amazing to watch. She is also developing supportive friendships and making life long memories! It's a very welcoming environment and the staff is AWESOME! I would highly recommend Body Language Dance Company!
