★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Our daughter has absolutely loved her time at CSDA. She started in Combo I and has progressed into older age group classes, now doing Ballet, Tap and Jazz. She has shown wonderful progress and confidence in the years she has attended and adores the dance teachers. She is so looking forward to the end of year recital where the dancers showcase their efforts during the year. We also cannot wait to see how she has grown as a dancer!Would highly recommend this dance academy for any aspiring dancer!
April 08 · Nicola AsheOur daughter loves CSDA. There is not just ballet, but also tap/jazz, musical/theatre, acrobatic, lyrical etc - all in one place. The teachers are great: they care for each individual, but still have high standards. I was particularly impressed by the performance of the competition team: it really has Broadway character. Our daughter is thrilled and loves attending dance classes several times a week. The girls are a great team who support and care for each other. It feels like one big family! Let's go, CSDA!
April 11 · Sabine BayerMy daughter was a rhythmic gymnastics dancer and wanted to explore dance but at a competitive level. She searched the internet and found the Candace Sheppard academy. She immediately let me know she was interested because they had a wide range of dance classes (ballet, tap, musical theater. lyrical etc..). I remember calling Candace, the owner of the academy, and she was so helpful that we got so excited to start our journey with them. My daughter loves being part of the academy. Candace, her daughter and all the dancers there are so professional and teach our kids the best dance technics. The kids are close friends and enjoy being together. During competitions, they cheer and lift each other up. It’s a joy to watch them. I highly recommend Candace Sheppard academy, its been a wonderful experience to us as parents and our daughter.
April 04 · Serena BoustanyLOVE CSDA! We were looking for a blend of fun and real dance instruction when we started with our daughter at 18 months, and CDSA has been wonderful. This is real dance instruction (not mommy and me playtime) and a fantastic balance of learning movement and independence, especially for younger children. The classes are small and allow for individual support and talent development. Now 5 years old, our daughter has loved every instructor and is wowwed by the performances of the older classes. I highly recommend CDSA for ballet and tap, but have seen great performances from modern dance, lyric and other styles. An excellent choice for Washington, D.C. moms looking for beginner ballet and dance for toddlers and younger kids.
