★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Since returning to California, I've been checking out multiple pole studios in the South Bay Area. I've taken a few classes at Ly's Santa Clara location for the past month and am happy with the quality of the classes. I've taken classes with Ly, Jane, and Alex for L1/2 - the instructors do a good job of dividing the class into groups, including easier or more challenging variations. There's an emphasis on technique, which I appreciate as a poler who wants to improve foundational skills. Would recommend bringing knee pads (for warmup and moves that take place on the floor). The studio is easy to get to from the freeway and there is plenty of parking in the back lot as well as the street. I have not been visiting this studio as often as I'd like to because it's far for me, but still highly recommend to others.
June 28 · M. NguyenThis has been my home pole studio the past 2 years. I have made progress I never could imagined making! Ly is my favorite instructor. I recommend everyone to take her class!
December 28 · Linda LeeI have been taking pole classes at Ly's studio since 2021 and have really enjoyed the sense of community that Ly, other teachers, and students have helped create. Both the San Jose and this Santa Clara location are great, and most of the time students have a pole to themselves. Ly is a wonderful, detailed, and knowledgeable instructor who tries to challenge and help students and teachers succeed at their own pace.
February 12 · Yiyi MochiI have been dropping in different dance studios to compare and see which studio I want to enroll in for the long term. Here are my comments for this studio. 1. The dance studio space is a bit tight. 2. The instructor needs to work on communication skills and patience. The instructor showcased the move just one or two times, and then asked the students to practice on themselves. When students make mistakes, the instructor comments "No" and "wrong" A LOT. But if you don't ask, then the instructor doesn't come to assist or explain what went wrong. If you're new you may feel left out and discouraging. While my experience at other dance studios are much helpful. 3. This studio pays very little attention to safety compared to other dance studios. Students were asked to do tricks when they may not have the psychical strength yet or prepping practices. I'm totally new and the instructor know little about my psychial condition. But she told me to climb to the top of the pole. I did it since I regularly work out and have some muscle strength, and not yet caffeinated so my rational thinking was lacking. I know other studios would not risk especially when a student is new to pole dance. But the up side is, if you want to learn more tricks and push yourself to work out hard, then this might be the place. 4. The dance style at this studio is more like pole Kungfu instead of pole dance. Compared to other places, I find it lacks style. 5. I don't get the instructor's sense of humor. When students were still practicing, she said why you're still staying don't you have a life beside pole dance. Sounds like a projection to me. And that gives mean girl vibes. Maybe she can try to be a happier person. Overall this dance studio doesn't pass my vibe check. I decided to enroll in another pole studio.
May 25 · JA LI poled for a few years, then took a break, but found the L1/L2 class w/ Ly to be a perfect re-entry class. Ly's instructions are very clear on body positioning and I felt she gave equal attention to all students, not just the regulars. Studio is nice, poles are tall, and there were knee pads, chalk/grip aid, etc. available to students (my former studios didn't offer this for free). Looking forward to taking another class here!
