What is worth choosing
For California parents, especially those navigating the busy schedules of the East Bay, Pacific West Gymnastics is the superior choice because it offers both consistency and diversity of experience. Instead of enrolling a child in multiple different programs—a dance school, a sports camp, and a gymnastics class—this center consolidates them all. This efficiency, combined with year-round camp offerings that cover every school break, establishes it as an indispensable organizational tool for families.
The core reason for choosing Pacific West, however, is the foundational development it provides. The program is built on using the art of motion to build strength, discipline, and self-esteem. While new students in early classes may require a period of adjustment to coaching styles, the overwhelming majority of reviews reflect a positive, welcoming environment where kids grow and maximize their potential. From a simple recreational class to competitive team programs, the center is committed to providing a clean, well-equipped, and supportive space where Bay Area kids can truly thrive and develop skills that last a lifetime.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Not happy with the coaches here because they don’t really put effort in your child’s learning. There are no instructions and coaches are just standing there. As a 3.5 year old, kids aren’t going to ask you questions, you need to guide them. Overall, administration doesn’t focus on coaching and it’s more of a free play. I liked the set-up but it’s not put to effective use. Furthermore, in 1 last month there were 3 different coaches and they don’t seem to be happy about their job.
May 31 · puneet mahajanMy daughter goes there for 2 months now and she really likes it. The coaches are nice and the facilities are generally newer.
August 01 · Chao ZhangI want to share my disappointing experience with what I can only describe as the worst gymnastics facility we have ever encountered. I have two daughters, aged 6 and 8, and we decided to enroll them in gymnastics classes here in Pacific West Gymnastics, hoping to see them develop their skills and gain confidence in their abilities. Since September 1, 2023, we have been attending classes once a week, and after 13 long months, I am disheartened to report that neither of my daughters has achieved any level advancement.Despite our consistent attendance and the effort we have put into this, it feels as though we have not made any progress at all. The instruction seems lackluster, and the environment is not as encouraging or supportive as we had hoped. This experience has been incredibly frustrating for both me and my daughters, who were excited about learning gymnastics but are now feeling disheartened.Given our experience, I cannot recommend this facility to anyone. It has proven to be a waste of our time, money, and effort, and I truly believe that there are better options out there for aspiring young gymnasts. If you are considering enrolling your children in gymnastics, I urge you to look elsewhere for a more nurturing and effective program.
October 30 · Roland BantugonOne StarDisappointed with Pacific West GymnasticsI enrolled my child at Pacific West Gymnastics with high hopes for a fun and enriching experience. Unfortunately, my expectations were not met.A major issue is the constant presence of parents within the gym. The designated viewing area is often empty while parents crowd the gym floor, distracting both children and instructors. This creates a chaotic environment that hinders the learning process.Additionally, I've observed that the instructors seem overwhelmed, often struggling to give individual attention to each child. With so many distractions, it's difficult for them to effectively teach and supervise.I believe Pacific West Gymnastics has the potential to be a great facility, but it needs to prioritize a safer and more focused learning environment by enforcing the parent viewing policy and providing adequate staffing.
July 27 · Vivek ShahI signed up to 'try out' the Fremont location enrolling my 6 year old granddaughter for tumbling. I think if the instructor was a little more involved in the class and talked less to her colleague my granddaughter might have been more interested in the classes. We ended up leaving early because my granddaughter was crying and she didn't want to do tumbling any longer. I was sad that she didn't like it.
