★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I had the privilege of training at the Rochester School of Dance when I was growing up, and I can honestly say it was an invaluable experience. The teachers were not only talented but also deeply committed to instilling proper technique and nurturing each student's growth and passion for dance. The focus on building solid foundations while pushing us to refine our skills set me up for success, both in and out of the dance world, and the level of training was second to none. The school offers a well-rounded curriculum, teaching ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, and acro. This diverse range of styles ensures that dancers receive a comprehensive dance education and are well-prepared for whatever direction they wish to pursue. Throughout my years there, I had the opportunity to perform regularly, compete nationwide with other schools, and audition for prestigious professional dance companies. These experiences were invaluable in shaping my dance journey and developing my confidence as a performer. Now, as a parent, I am proud to have my children training at the same school. The quality of instruction has only improved, and we continue to be impressed by the caliber of the teachers, the beautiful performances, and the sense of community within the school. Rochester School of Dance truly provides top-tier training for dancers of all ages and abilities, and I am grateful for the positive impact it has had on both my life and my children's dance education. If you are looking for an amazing dance experience, I can’t recommend them enough!
March 15 · Brianne CookeMy 13 yo daughter has been dancing at RSD since she was just 3 years old. I wouldn’t change a thing. The ballet training she’s receiving is impeccable and the performing opportunities through RSD and MBT are the icing on the cake! She’s been given the opportunity to learn and excel in all forms of dance and I couldn’t be prouder of the Dancer she’s become. Thank you Miss Jennie and RSD!
September 28 · DEBBIE WILLIAMSI just had the incredible pleasure of experiencing the Nutcracker performed by the talented dancers of Michigan Ballet Theatre, and I can confidently say it's the best in Michigan. From start to finish, the production was nothing short of magical. The dancers demonstrated exceptional skill and artistry, bringing every moment to life with precision and grace. The professionalism of the entire cast, from the stunning choreography to the exquisite costumes and set design, truly set this performance apart. Each scene was filled with energy and emotion, making it an unforgettable experience. Michigan Ballet Theatre has clearly set the bar for holiday performances, and if you have the chance to see their Nutcracker, do not miss it – it's a must-see spectacle of the highest caliber!
December 23 · Dave TroyFor the last three years, when I think of the Nutcracker I think of Michigan Ballet Theatre. I am so grateful for the opportunity that the Link School of the Arts dancers (a Christian Ballet School) have been given to collaborate and partner with during the Christmas Holidays. This year’s Nutcracker Production was the best. So much improvement in the technical, artistic, choreographic and staging area. Our dancers loved every minute of it. We even have had the honor and privilege of our former Link dancers return from professional careers to teach master classes at RSD and perform Sugar Plum (the Prince and Grand pas). I would recommend MBC Nutcracker production for any studio looking to give their dancers an opportunity to perform in one of the best Nutcracker productions in Michigan!
January 05 · Betty MitchellWhen my daughter made the decision to focus on ballet training, our obvious choice was Rochester School of Dance / Michigan Ballet Theatre. After watching the MBT Company Nutcracker, I am more certain than ever that she is receiving the highest caliber training, and as a parent I couldn't be happier with the combination of discipline and nurturing guidance she's receiving through MBT. Their production is pure magic, from the stage design and costumes to the intricate, exquisite choreography performed by dancers at each level of their training. My only regret is that she only has a limited time left to train before graduation. (We will be coming back to see MBT's Nutcracker for years to come!)
