What is worth choosing
For residents of California, particularly those in the Bay Area, Steps On Toes is an exceptional choice for anyone looking to learn partner dancing, especially for a special occasion like a wedding. The most compelling reason to choose this studio is the highly personalized and patient teaching style. As highlighted in customer reviews, the instructor, LaurieAnn, takes a "mindful approach," getting to know her students and their specific needs. This contrasts with larger, more rigid dance studios and makes the learning process not only effective but also enjoyable and stress-free. For couples preparing for their first wedding dance, this is an invaluable benefit. The ability to feel comfortable, confident, and well-supported during what can be a high-pressure time is a significant advantage that sets Steps On Toes apart.
The studio's specialization in wedding dance programs is another key feature. The owner goes "above and beyond" to help with every aspect, from choreography to even song selection, as noted by a client. This level of dedication shows a genuine commitment to the client's success and happiness on their big day. The emphasis on teaching confidence, not just steps, is a theme that runs through the testimonials and demonstrates the studio's focus on the holistic experience. Students are taught to feel more at ease on the dance floor, a skill that extends far beyond a single event. This is particularly beneficial for those who consider themselves "not good dancers" and need extra encouragement and guidance.
Furthermore, the variety of services offered, from social dance lessons to private training in specific styles, means that the studio can cater to a wide range of interests. Whether you are a couple seeking to reconnect through a new hobby or a single person wanting to learn how to feel comfortable at social events, Steps On Toes has a program for you. The acceptance of debit cards also adds a layer of convenience. In conclusion, by choosing Steps On Toes, you are not just purchasing a service; you are investing in a positive, personalized, and confidence-boosting experience that will leave you with a skill for life and a newfound love for dance. The glowing reviews from couples who successfully navigated their wedding dance are a powerful testament to the studio's quality and care.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We are so grateful to LaurieAnn for helping us three weeks before the wedding put together steps that panned out to be a very fun dance. She took a very mindful approach in first getting to know us, asking us our learning styles and goals. She is a wonderful dance teacher - patient and encouraging. LaurieAnn also went above and beyond and helped us select a better first dance song that we felt more confident dancing to. Highly recommend LaurieAnn as a teacher for both new and experienced dancers!
July 30 · Seonah IversonWe loved working with LaurieAnn. She was patient with us (we are not good dancers) and guided us to become more confident during our first dance at our wedding. Thank you so much LaurieAnn!!
August 15 · Jake EddyWe had 8 weeks before our wedding, and we couldn't have met a better dance teacher than LaurieAnn. Even though neither my wife and I had any prior dance experiences, we never felt like the process was out of reach, and she never made us feel like we lacked the skills or potential to learn our dance. In the end, the dance went off without a hitch. The most common response we got from our friends was that it was "too short", which is much preferred to the much feared "it went on too long."One of the first questions she asked us was "do you want to learn dance just for the wedding, or would you like to use these lessons as a springboard into dance?" The latter! We replied. We hope to take dance classes with Laurie for the foreseeable future :)
July 14 · Alex HsuLoved working with LaurieAnn! She made dancing a breeze when I took a lesson with my Dad for our "Daddy Daughter dance" so I signed up for dance lessons with my fiancé for our wedding. We learned how to do the lindy swing, and LaurieAnn was great with taking videos, being super detailed, and making the lessons fun! I highly recommend her!
September 10 · Jordi PollockLaurieAnn is amazing!!! My wife and I have been together for 12 years but finally decided to get married this past September. We wanted to do a first dance and a dance with our dads, but didn't think about getting lessons until about a month before the wedding. We found LaurieAnn via yelp and she was able to squeeze us in with about five lessons for our first dance and a practice lesson with our dads in the few weeks before our wedding. She is a miracle worker! While my wife is an incredible dancer, I have no rhythm and we had never really slow danced together, other than the slow dance shuffle that anyone who doesn't know how to dance does. In about five sessions, LaurieAnn taught us the Fox Trot, as well as an inside and outside turn and cute intro, which looked so elegant and as if we had danced together for years. The dance with our dads went equally well and everyone loved it.We bought a package of 15 lessons (LaurieAnn offers many different types of packages) and my wife and I have spent the past few months learning salsa. I don't think there's a dance that LaurieAnn doesn't know, and she is such a patient and skilled teacher. Finally, as a same-sex couple, we felt so comfortable with and embraced by LaurieAnn, who had clearly worked with same-sex couples before. LaurieAnn makes learning to dance incredibly fun and easy!
