The Turning Pointe A School For The Performing Arts is a worthwhile choice for families in Michigan for several compelling reasons. The most significant is its unique and holistic approach to education. While many dance schools focus solely on technical proficiency, The Turning Pointe goes a step further by integrating "life training" into its curriculum. This means students are not only learning dance steps but are also being mentored on a personal level, developing skills such as discipline, perseverance, and confidence. The strong leadership from the owner, who is described as a mentor who truly cares, creates a nurturing environment where students are seen as individuals with unique potential. This focus on character development is a huge benefit that extends far beyond the dance studio and into every aspect of a student's life.
Furthermore, the quality of instruction is a major draw. As noted in a customer review, the school boasts a "superlative tap instructor" and a "ballet professor." This caliber of teaching ensures that students receive a top-tier dance education. The school is well-suited for serious, competition-level dancers, providing the rigorous training and academic structure needed to excel. For those with more casual interests, while it may be wise to check the schedule to ensure it fits, the quality of instruction remains consistent. The clean and professional environment of the studios also contributes to a superior training experience. These factors combine to create an atmosphere where students can learn from the best and push themselves to new heights.
Finally, the sense of community and family is a powerful reason to choose this school. In an environment that is described as "friendly, clean, and warm," children can feel safe, valued, and encouraged. The care and attention paid to each child's well-being is a core value of the institution, making it a place where students can truly feel at home. This supportive network not only makes the dance experience more enjoyable but also helps to foster long-lasting friendships and a strong sense of belonging. The fact that the school is good for kids and has invested in accessibility features like a wheelchair-accessible car park and entrance further underscores its commitment to being an inclusive and welcoming space for the entire community. studio
★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Studios are spacious, instructors are nice but not all college level as I once was informed. The dance academics is wonderful for the competition dancer but the dancer who just is interested in a few classes weekly; well the schedule is void in accommodating him wise to search alternative sites. Yet the owner is a wonderful mentor whom really cares about each and every student's success. She is a wonderful choreographer. There is a superlative tap instructor and a ballet professor if she has not retired.
January 23 · Valerie SterlingMy granddaughter has been dancing there for 5 years now. This place is like family. They care about your child's wellbeing.Friendly, clean, warm environment.
November 15 · Peaches OwensMy daughter loves her teachers! She's been dancing here for 10 years. The best recitals around - so professional.
March 13 · Jill MostekGranddaughter loves it. You can't watch though. I am guessing they don't want the kids self conscious. Lots and lots of kids there.
September 20 · Dan DeClTeachers are nice but the monthly fee is quite a lot considering they close for breaks.
