What is worth choosing about Urban Movement Arts is its dedication to building a genuine community around the art of dance. It is not just about the physical workout, though that is certainly a benefit. As one student noted, the classes are a "great workout," but the real value is in the supportive and friendly instructors. The patient teaching style and positive encouragement, particularly for beginners, make it an ideal place for anyone who has been hesitant to try dance. Vince, the instructor mentioned in a review, is a prime example of the kind of dedicated and fantastic teachers that make UMA a special place.
The affordability is also a major factor. With an "Intro Month" special for new students, it is an accessible way to try out a variety of classes without a huge financial commitment. This is a crucial element for a business that aims to be inclusive and welcoming to a broad audience. The ability to choose between classes focused on choreography and those on drills and freestyle is a huge benefit, as it respects the diverse goals and interests of dancers. Urban Movement Arts fills a vital role in Philadelphia, providing a welcoming and authentic space for people to learn, grow, and connect through the power of movement. For anyone in the Pennsylvania region looking for a dance studio that is both professional and deeply personal, UMA is an excellent choice.

Urban Movement Arts Reviews
I've been going for a few weeks now and have had a great experience! All the class instructors are friendly and the classes themselves are a great workout. There's also a good amount of variety and I like being able to try different classes easily. As someone completely new to dance, I've been especially enjoying the introductory DIP series led by Vince - he's been fantastic so far in patiently teaching everyone moves, offering positive encouragement and helping people who may be struggling with a move during class.Would highly recommend UMA at 8th st, particularly as a beginner dancer.
March 17 · Harsha KollaGo there people! I've been going to urban movement arts for probably 5 years now. This is their shiny new location!First, it's a welcoming community, I always make friends there. And for the dance class quality, well, I wasn't a dancer when I started, and now I feel like one. They'll help you wherever you're at so that you can make progress. All the teachers are amazing dancers and are sweet, focused and well prepared. Many classes focus on drills and freestyle which I love, because choreo is not my thing (read : I'm bad at it). So u choose what u like!Ps : they are affordable too, yay.
November 07 · Julia Durand10 stars for UMA! Wide selection of classes. Talented, dedicated and encouraging teachers. It's been a joy to see students technique and artistry grow over their years there. Lots of opportunities for both novice and experienced dancers to get their sweat on and try new styles.
