Alchemy of Movement Reviews
I joined Alchemy of Movement less than a week ago and I am already in LOVE with their welcoming, fun, warm, genuine and liberating energy. Every instructor and Ashley, the owner, are super friendly and they put you at ease when you step into the studio. You can tell that this isn't a typical fitness or dance studio where you come and go and don't get a chance to meet anyone. This is family and a MOVEMENT with a BIG MISSIOn that inspires everyone to be themselves, to express their unique quirks and personalities through movement and that you don't have to be a dancer or professionally trained at all in order to feel amazing about yourself and most importantly to just have fun!!! Thank you for creating this sanctuary, Ashley and thank to every instructor and member to contributing to the energy of this place.
July 21 · Yulia AzrielAlchemy of Movement located in Boulder Colorado, is an excellent studio space to experience the beauty of dance fitness, while learning many different dance styles. There are several class options to choose from with a variety of inspiring helpful teachers which will encourage you to dance freely without stress, or judgement. It is such a fun way to burn a lot of calories, and feel amazing during, and after your class. I am hooked! I absolutely love this place. Check it out! This is an adult only space, but age is irrelevant here which is also great!
June 21 · Jeanne RuizI have been coming to Alchemy for 7 months and now can’t imagine my life without out it. I started very excited about the dance classes, especially Hyped:World and Dance Jam (SO MUCH FUN!) but quickly realized that my body wasn’t quite strong enough for how I was trying to use it. Fortunately, Alchemy offers group toning and lifting classes (seriously, try them, I never thought I’d enjoy a kettlebell and come back for more) that have helped me build the strength to feel confident and in control of my body during high energy, booty poppin’ dance routines. Once you start you won’t want to stop!
August 03 · Amber HorningThis place is amazing! I’ve been going here for 4 years. If you are looking for a non judgmental place to shake ya booty you have to come here. As an adult with little professional dance training I wanted to find a safe space to get out of my comfort zone and I am so lucky to have found Alchemy. The owner Ashley is extremely talented and welcoming. No matter how long it’s been since I’ve taken a class she always remembers me by name. Ashley, Ayla, Cheyenne, and Chantel are fantastic teaches that all bring energetic bubbly personality to class. I’ve joined troupes this semester and can’t wait to do it again already. I love this place and would recommend it to anybody looking to dance for joy!
April 01 · Caitlin CannadyI LOVE Hyped. Dancing with Marjee Wise (and all of the instructors there) is very, VERY fun! Hyped is a really good workout that not only makes you very sweaty, gets your heart pumping and wakes up your body, but will also brighten your day or evening; which can be said for ALL of the classes I have ever attended at Alchemy. I have never found a teacher nor a class there that I didn't REALLY like. Alchemy Of Movement is the only thing standing between me and obesity in the winter time. If you love to dance even a little, come here.Adding on:In addition to many other classes at Alchemy Of Movement, "Revive" is another that I love and do. This review refers to the class led by Jahaia Best-Anderson who dances with a smooth and earthy, yet powerful style that is SO enjoyable!! It is designed to be a slightly lower-intensity and lower-impact version of their class, "Hyped" (another insanely fun exercise/dance class that I adore -- see above), but make no mistake, if you can actually keep up with Jahaia, step-for-step for even half of it, you're looking at a seriously intense workout. It's also shorter (40 min vs. 60 min) which can be convenient if you're short on time or just don't have it in you to do a full hour that day!One more I MUST review: "Bold" is a very inventive concept; not that using weights and bands for resistance while moving is new, but it's the WAY that Alchemy Of Movement (Ashley Patchen) fuses weights with dance.Coming from someone who can't stay with aerobics classes (repetitive motion to music), I LOVE this class! It still feels like dance (because it is). It's exciting, moving, empowering and joyful all while incorporating weights, kettle bells, resistance bands and, of course, gravity. The choreography is fun AND a serious sweat session! This is the only "weight class" I will ever stay with; and even better.....enjoy!!As I mentioned in my first paragraph, this dance/exercise wonderland is a haven. If there is a dance/exercise empire in our futures, I believe Ashley Patchen will be the one to grow it.
