We offer a plethora of pre-professional dance classes including Advanced Ballet, Advanced Contemporary, Advanced Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballroom, Tap and more! Our advanced dancers train, compete and perform throughout Chicagoland and have been honored at some of the top dance organisations.
Beginner's classes
Twinkle Stars Academy is for ages 2.5-5 and teaches Ballet, tap and jazz. We have classes in beginning ballet, beginning jazz, beginning tap and beginning hip hop for young dancers who want to begin their dance journey or have a little experience
Choreography classes
Intermediate classes
Our intermediate dance classes are for ages 9-14 and offer a bridge between beginning and advanced level classes. Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Ballroom, Ballet, Pointe, Jumps and Turns and more are all offered at the intermediate level. Dancers perform in our recital at the end of the year.
Jazz
We offer beginning jazz, intermediate jazz and advanced jazz. Many different styles of jazz are available throughout the year including classic, dance team jazz and jazz funk. Our dancers experience it all! We have faculty members who specialise in Giordano technique and UDA dance team technique.
Private lessons

Advanced Ballet classes at Extensions are a favorite and highly attended past time among the students, graduate and the professional community in Chicago. Lizzie Mackenzie, Katie McCann, Terry Marling and Tatyana Mazur are among the most beloved ballet faculty Chicago has to offer.
Advanced Hip Hop
Our advanced hip hop classes are taught by highly sought after teachers from the Chicagoland area. Sophia Santore has been our beloved hip hop teacher for many years and her students love her. Come in and try a Hip Hop class at Extensions!
African Dance
During our summer dance intensive each year we offer West African dance and it is always a favorite among the kids! Between the live accompaniment and the fun, challenging movement and traditions along with the wonderful master teachers we bring in make it a highly anticipated summer dance treat!

Each summer we offer the Chicago City Classical Ballet intensive with Tatyana Mazur. Ballet dancers ages 8-19 take classes in floor barre, ballet technique and variations each day in two levels, intermediate ballet intensive and advanced ballet intensive at the Extensions Dance Studio in chicago.
Beginning Ballet
Beginning ballet is one of the favorite and most well attended youth dance classes at Extensions Dance. The dancers learn ballet technique from some of the best youth dance instructors in the city and they learn to focus, work hard and have fun at the same time!
Beginning Jazz
Our beginning jazz dance classes are a huge hit at the studio with the dancers learning jazz technique and jazz choreography to fun and energetic music. They have lots of fun and they express themselves through movement while getting stronger learning and refining their jazz tech, jumps and turns.
Beginning Tap
Beginning tap is a great class for dancers who love music and rhythm. We use current fun music and teach the basics and how to connect them into fun tap choreography that is age and level appropriate. Our dancers LOVE their youth tap classes at Extensions!

Chicago City Classical Ballet is a pre-professional youth Classical company housed at Extensions Dance Center. Dancers perform at Youth America Grand Prix, Universal Ballet competition, ICON classical competition and New York City Dance Alliance. They also perform a classical ballet in our recital.
Classical Training
Our classical ballet training program at Extensions gives dancers the opportunity to learn excerpts from a classical ballet and perform it in the recital as well as potentially becoming part of the youth classical ballet company Chicago City Classical Ballet. The dancers perform classical solos too!

our family had a great experience at extensions dance with our daughter in the twinkle stars program. she loved learning ballet and tap dance with miss leslie. we always felt very welcome when we walked into the building and the holiday program they did was AMAZING - our daughter still talks about it months later.

We have had the most incredible experience at extensions with our two girls. The teachers are so warm, talented and professional and the studio is beautiful and inviting. It is clear that the staff care SO much about the dancers not only in helping them grow in their skills, performance and technique but also in how they help them grow as people. This place is amazing! From the teachers to the studio and the community. We have been her for two years with the company and have loved it! Lizzie creates an inclusive environment for the kids which builds confidence, team building and consideration for others - it is more than a dance studio!
