Shostakovich School of Music, Art & Dance Reviews
Unique, one of a kind school that has something for every family. Music, dance, singing, art, they prepare you for gifted and talented exams. I have seen many children (friends and my own) attend classes here for many years. I have attended many many recitals here, and I never cease to be amazed at the amount of work and love that goes into these things. The kids are so lucky. Wonderful dedicated knowledgeable teachers. There is no other school like it. I cannot say enough good things.
June 12 · Yana RosensteinThis school does an amazing job of raising a child in an environment of art, and the teachers are great at teaching kids music, art, and dance. From personal experience, I have attended this school since I was 2 and can only recall positive memories from the 15 years since then. Diana is an amazing director and runs her business truthfully and honestly. This school deserves respect and your children should attend as many classes as they can here, from piano to dance. It will be worth it.
September 14 · Daniel GrushanskiyI went to Shostakovich school for Modern Dance lessons as both a child and an adult; my 10 year old sister now goes to lessons with the same teacher- Luda. We are beyond grateful that we have found this school. We have gained not only knowledge of dance, but relationships with the teachers and peers that are absolutely priceless. The director- Diana- is very accommodating: she offers makeup classes, a free initial lesson and she is very receptive to families’ difficult circumstances. The best moments of both mine and my sisters’ lives are on account of this school and we would undoubtedly recommend it to anyone.
September 14 · Liya ZevelevaFrom the very young age my daughter was interested in many different types and various styles of music at home or in the car. As she got older, I was amazed at how well she respond to music and how quickly she can memorize the lyrics. I thought it is most important that I would give my child every opportunity to be musical and that she would have fun! I was recommended to Shostakovich School of Music, Art& Dance and I am glad I chose them because its the best music school in Brooklyn, NY with the most talented music instructors ever. My daughter attended their piano classes almost 3 years now and I am so happy seeing the absolute joy in her face. Her Piano Teacher is Dr. Irina Schipacheva and she is amazing. She taught my little eight year old girl to play a version of Vivaldis Autumn. It was quite a challenge for her and she worked very hard on it. She performed it perfectly on the day of the concert in front of about one hundred parents and children. After the concert I found a note that she left for me saying I did it Mommy! I love you. I did it and now I know all of it!! We both really happy with Shostakovich School of Music, Art& Dance.
February 26 · Karen PollockAmazing dance school! I've been dancing for the past fourteen years with Lyuda. She is the absolute best teacher! Not only is she a gifted dancer, choreographer and teacher but she is also a second mother to us all. Truly found my second family at Shostakovich! Highly recommend!!
