★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Barbara Lins shows clear racist bias—she doesn’t help East Asian students with form and uses them as examples of mistakes. Her ballet technique lacks grace and lightness, making her hard to learn from. This class is also poorly designed: half is spent on yoga mats, and the barre is unsafe, placed just two inches from the wall. There were 5 people in this class and 2 in the class after - clearly no one wants to take this class
June 23 · LillianI took an amazing class at the first day of Lunar New Year, Character Ballet/World Dance with the teacher, Osamu Uehara. What a kind, patient, and thorough teacher! He also pushed me so I could learn and excel. The class was also so fun. I think it's rare to have all those combinations. What a Gift! We ended with with some Classical Chinese dancing to celebrate Lunar New Year. How Lovely! I cannot wait to return again!
February 08 · Nina IrizarryThe team is fantastic and very supportive of both beginners and experienced. They give quality feedback and encourage growth no matter the skill level. The studio is clean and feels professional. They have bathrooms there for changing and a place to store your carry in items. Socks will be needed if you don't have ballet slippers.Outside is a sign just in case you can't find it! The area is safe to leave in the evenings and parking can be done in the garage down the street.
September 23 · Antoniette VMy favorite ballet school. It's the best one for non-dancers. I started with 0 ballet skills and have improved a lot over time. They have awesome teachers and classes are never crowded. Recommend 100%
February 19 · Anna LAmazing, amazing experience I would not have anticipated. I have been to about 16 classes here over about 10 weeks. I am nearly 50 and thought that the discipline of ballet would help me reduce pain and stretch my brain. It is doing all that, and more. I absolutely did not anticipate the improvement I have had in my overall physical fitness. This past Sunday, I returned to my gym for the first time since I started ballet. I was absolutely shocked and surprised by my performance across different muscle groups and activities. I do not know that I am exponentially stronger, but maybe the combination of strength, coordination, posture, effort? I can provide some concrete examples. I started on the rowing machine. I usually target 2000-2200 meters in 18 minutes, but started my warm up this time with 2600 meters in 15 minutes flat. No breaks, no stops, no adjustments. Strokes were just more powerful. Things just worked better. Moving to strength, I found similar results--substantial increases in weight required to get any workout for adductors, abductors (inner and outer thighs), leg presses, and other lower body work. Even more surprising to me, I had to increase weight substantially for chest and back workouts (Deltoids and pectorals). Each time I sat to work at something, I had to reset my weight up several times in order to do a workout that would, well, feel like a workout. It was absolutely fascinating. I cannot imagine that the increase over the next 10 weeks could be as steep, but clearly my whole body has been challenged in new ways and has benefited from that. I did not understand how all-encompassing this impact could be. I really look forward to keeping this up and learning more as I go. I love too that there is a variety of excellent teachers. I have met at least 4 or 5 and they are all excellent.
