## What is Worth Choosing
For dancers and dance families in **Washington**, choosing **Centerstage Dance Shop** is worth it because it offers specialized service that cannot be replicated by generic sporting goods stores or large, impersonal online retailers. Your choice here is an investment in quality, expertise, and community.
The primary reason to choose Centerstage is the **unmatched expertise in accurate sizing**. In dance, a shoe or tight that is even slightly off can affect performance, comfort, and even a dancer's physical health. The staff, as dancers themselves, possess an intuitive understanding of the product fit, especially for highly specific items like pointe shoes (though not explicitly mentioned, expert fitting is a hallmark of high-quality dance stores) and different styles of tap and ballet slippers. This expert, personalized service ensures that every dollar spent is on a product that is perfectly suited to the dancer's needs, whether they are eleven years old or an adult.
Secondly, Centerstage offers **convenience that truly respects a dancer's time**. For busy parents and dancers living outside of Seattle, the seamless experience of having the store keep sizing records and mail the next size up is a game-changer. This high level of responsiveness and personalization—praised by long-distance customers—transforms a potential chore (driving across the state or dealing with online returns) into a simple, efficient process. Furthermore, for quick, in-town visits, the options for curbside pickup and free street parking make the logistical aspects of gear acquisition simple.
Finally, by choosing Centerstage Dance Shop, you are actively **supporting a valued local institution with inclusive values**. This is a women-owned small business that actively promotes a diverse and safe space for all members of the **Washington** dance community, including its LGBTQ+ patrons. In a time when local businesses need support more than ever, choosing Centerstage is a statement that you value local expertise, dedicated customer service, and a business model that is built on a foundation of respect and a genuine passion for the art of dance.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This is an excellent store for all the shoes and clothes a person needs to DANCE. I took my young granddaughter there recently to get her set up for ballet & tap classes. Aleksia helped us a lot! Classes are now underway and going great!
September 23 · Maela MooreFor the past three years, my daughter and I have driven over from Bainbridge to Centerstage in the late summer to have her shoes and tights fitted. The staff are all amazing with sizing. Then, as she outgrows her size (she is 11 years old), I simply call the store, and they mail me the next size up! They keep great records and are so punctual with shipping. What I love is their expertise and responsiveness with shipping and helping us. Before finding Centerstage, I tried using online stores to try on different brands. I found that they advertise one brand and style and then ship another. Another model of tights can fit much differently. Centerstage eliminates all this hassle and always provides me with predictable, high-quality products! They are amazing, and we are loyal customers.
February 20 · Christina ServinI live in Tacoma and it’s not always easy for me to get to Seattle, but whenever I’ve come, I’ve had a great experience. Very good service and competitive prices!
May 22 · Sara ProtasiI came here looking to buy some new salsa dancing shoes. I was pleasantly surprised at the selection they had. Do not believe the previous reviews from years ago that said they only have children’s shoes. They certainly have updated their stock and they have many selections of women’s and men’s dancing shoes. You can see some of my pictures for reference. The person working there was very friendly and helped me immediately. I came at a good time as I was the only person in the store (around 4 PM on a weekday). She told me her recommendations and what I should look for and said to pick out whatever design I like and then she would get the right sizes for me in the back. I had to try a couple of sizes to find the best fit and she was very patient and helpful. (My dance shoe size turned out to be 1 size bigger than my normal shoe size-not sure if that's typical or not)I liked how there’s a little mirror and stage area where you can try on your new shoes and do the spins and moves that your dancing shoes will take you all night. It didn’t take very long for me to walk out of there with a brand new pair of salsa dancing shoes, and I am in love with them. The prices are very reasonable even compared to online vendors and if you buy them here you’ll be supporting a local neighborhood store. It’s definitely a quaint little place with lots of goodies inside, so come check it out. I certainly will recommend this to friends and family who are getting into dancing.
May 16 · Yuchen ZhangRiley helped me with a point shoe fitting after years of being away from ballet and it was an amazingly wonderful experience! She took all the time needed and is highly knowledgeable and detail-oriented; she helped me from absolute scratch to the perfect shoe. This shop is a precious, little, local gem. Go get fitted here!
