★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Viva arts is a community staple here in West Seattle. The coaches are kind, organized and very talented. My children have been a member's since 2021! There are classes for all ages, and they are adapted for all skill levels. It's a great martial art that not only helps improve coordination and athleticism, but has a very rich history. I highly recommend joining!
June 04 · Impala MarseilleJen (aka Agua-Viva) is the owner and an instructor for Capoeira and conditioning classes. She is organized, thoughtful, and professional in her approach to running this shared exercise space. She's also incredibly good with kids, the kids adore her and the classes are very popular.I mostly attend the adult capoeira classes. She's built a wonderful community of students passionate about learning all aspects of Capoeira (movements, music, culture, roda), who pitch in to support eachother and the community. If you are considering trying out Capoeira for yourself, or looking for a welcoming group, please come give us a try!
December 31 · Harrison W.Nice studio. I have been there just a few times. Good parking on and off site. The mirrors are enough for a small group, but for a packed class, you might not get mirror space. Needs to improve the floor -has several patches of masking tape. And needs to fix their lighting -it’s flickering so my choreographer teaches only with string lights that are not enough on cloudy days …which is most of the year in Seattle. All in, four stars. :)
June 10 · Carla BenavidesMy son takes capoeira classes here and the studio is amazing. Small, but clean and beautiful. The operator "Jen Hobbs" is a phenomenal teacher and very easy to talk to.
May 10 · Ryan NationsDo you want a combination of fun, challenge, music, strength, discipline and focus, VivaArts is the place. I am so glad to be part of this amazing practice. I strongly recommend instructor Agua Viva to show you the wonders of Capoeira. Thanks!
