While the location is central, prospective parents of very young children should inquire directly about studio setup, as one past customer noted the facility felt "very small" and that viewing children during class was limited. It is always recommended to tour the facility and discuss class observation policies before enrolling.
The curriculum at Cooke County Ballet Academy is extensive, covering the foundational needs of young children all the way through to pre-professional level training. The services are structured by age and level of technique, ensuring appropriate placement for every student.
- Early Childhood Dance: Includes classes like Preschool Ballet & Tap and Kindergarten Ballet & Tap, designed for the youngest students (ages 3-6) to develop creativity, coordination, rhythm, and classroom etiquette.

- Jazz and Tap Programs: Specialized Jazz Classes allow students to develop performance quality, energy, and musicality, while Tap classes focus on rhythm and percussive footwork.
- Unique Offerings: The academy also features Clogging classes, offering a distinct and energetic dance style less commonly found in typical ballet schools.
- Level-Based Instruction: Structured class placements, including Beginner's classes, Intermediate classes, and Advanced classes, are determined with technique taking precedence over age to ensure effective instruction.
- Recital Opportunities: The academy stages an annual recital in May to showcase student progress, with a recital fee covering costs such as auditorium rental, in lieu of charging for tickets.
Cooke County Ballet Academy’s standing in the North Texas dance community is built upon several key features that appeal to families seeking a dedicated and ethically minded studio.

Choosing Cooke County Ballet Academy is choosing a deep-rooted history of quality dance instruction in North Texas, backed by a director with a professional ballet background and a clear mission grounded in positive values. This school is an excellent choice for families seeking a comprehensive, multi-genre dance education—especially for students interested in serious classical training that includes Pointe work, balanced with other popular styles like Tap and Jazz. The academy's commitment to level-based placement, where technique guides class level rather than age alone, ensures a challenging and appropriate learning environment for every student from Beginner's classes upward.
It is important for parents of the youngest dancers (specifically ages 3-4) to know that the focus on structure and discipline may be intense. While the school aims for a caring environment, some very young children may find the required classroom etiquette challenging initially. Therefore, parents should approach enrollment for Preschool Ballet & Tap with the understanding that the goal is not solely "fun," but the building of fundamental discipline necessary for formal dance training. Cooke County Ballet Academy Reviews
10/10 much dance. You can dance if you want to, and Cooke County Ballet Academy is the place to learn to dance and to make friends dancing. Because if your friends don't dance then they are no friends of mine.
April 23 · William GauzensTook my 3 year old daughter to this studio and after just two sessions she NEVER wanted to dance again. The studio of very small and you are not able to see the children dance other than through a return air vent? My child would get lost and confused with what to do and freeze, she was told to "go sit down", basicly time out. She was the only child to not receive a stamp either time at the end of the class. When I asked what the issue was as my child was crying on the floor I was told "she did not stand in the back of the line"!?! Again she is THREE! The teacher I'm sure is wonderful dancer but most certainly NOT for young children. After just two classes my child was terrified of dance and never wanted to dance again. Do NOT take your young children to this studio make the drive else where after all it should be FUN not terrifying.
