★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1If you're serious about improving your ballet technique, Anastasia is the teacher you want. She’s incredibly meticulous and methodical—she really takes the time to break things down and correct your technique, no matter how small the detail. It can be tough at times, but you’ll definitely see the improvement.Once the technique is solid, she gradually shifts the focus to expression and artistry, helping you bring real emotion and personality into your dancing. That balance between precision and performance is what makes her classes so rewarding. She also organizes recitals that are a lot of fun and give us the chance to perform in front of friends and family. It’s a great way to show how far we’ve come and to celebrate the work we've put in.If you’re looking for a class where you can really grow and be challenged in the best way, this is it. I started as a complete beginner about 3.5 years ago—I didn’t even know the basic ballet positions. Now, I’m able to do certain kinds of turns on pointe, and my extensions are higher than I ever thought I could get them. My ankle strength, balance, and posture have improved so much. I used to be super clumsy and would sprain my ankles just doing everyday things, but that’s changed thanks to her training.
August 31 · Linh NguyenI started ballet classes with Anastasia about 6 month ago and regret and not joining earlier. I had prior classical dance amateur experience and when I moved to NYC, I kept looking for a ballet studio for a couple of years before I came across Extra Pirouette and finally found something that was up to my standards. I was looking for a place that has a dedicated and attentive teacher, and Anastasia is exactly that person. Whether you had prior dance or ballet experience or not, she will help you get on track and start improving from the very first class. The progress that I have made in those 6 month doesn’t compare to any other classes I have been previously taking. Not only has Anastasia been able to help me fix my long-term mistakes, but also help me understand where they might be coming from and help me understand it is not a talent issue. Some of my previous teachers used to say that my body is not made for dancing or ballet and Anastasia proves otherwise! If you have a desire to get better in dancing and an instructor like Anastasia, who is willing to guide you the way to becoming a better dancer, then you will get to your desired result eventually! I would definitely recommend taking classes at this studio if you always wanted start or get back to ballet classes. Not only will you improve your technique, but will also have some fun and have a chance to join the recitals that allow adults perform as well! After a long break, I’m looking to my first recital this December✨
November 22 · Mariia EzhkovaI started ballet lessons last fall as a complete beginner with no prior dance experience, and it’s been such a rewarding journey! I always attend the basic technique classes on Thursdays, which are perfect for building a strong foundation. The instructor takes the time to explain every detail, especially how to work with your feet, which has really helped me understand the mechanics of each movement. The smaller class size is also a huge plus—it feels more personal, and there's a better chance to get individual corrections compared to the larger group lessons with 20+ people. Highly recommend this for anyone looking to start ballet from scratch!
November 23 · Zoe GaoAnastasia is a great teacher as well as an artist. One of the best in New York City! Anastasia is very precise and always emphasizes on the use of right muscles and provides all the necessary corrections. Classes are very helpful and challenging in a way that it helps you to progress faster. Anastasia's classes are great as for very beginner as well as for advanced dancers as she pays attention to little details and provides a constant feedback on how to do movement better as well as more artistic.
February 25 · Anne NeznanovaAnastasia runs a phenomenal studio and she is an excellent, thoughtful, attentive teacher. She is determined to make each student better each class, she describes exactly the muscles to focus on for isolating, she keeps you mindful of your form and posture with every step, and has ingenious ways of orchestrating strengthening exercises throughout the week. Every student there enjoys themselves and Anastasia's pointed instruction (pun intended). It’s challenging every class and I laugh so much - what’s better??! I have nothing but superlatives to express
