Introduction / Overview
For those in Tennessee looking to immerse themselves in the elegant and disciplined world of dance, the Nashville Ballet stands as a premier destination. Located in the heart of Nashville, this institution is more than just a dance school; it is a pillar of the local arts community, dedicated to fostering a love for movement and music in students of all ages. The Nashville Ballet offers a comprehensive range of programs, from introductory classes for young children to advanced training for aspiring professional dancers. It is a place where every student, regardless of their age or experience level, can find a class that helps them grow. The school prides itself on creating a nurturing and encouraging environment, where patience and kindness are as important as technique. A key aspect of the Nashville Ballet’s mission is to make dance accessible and enjoyable for everyone. For the youngest dancers, the school is known for being “good for kids,” providing a safe and welcoming space for them to take their first steps into the world of ballet. The instructors and staff are noted for their kindness, patience, and thoughtfulness in helping children build confidence and find joy through movement. From the very beginning, the focus is on making students feel supported and welcome, with staff members who are skilled at identifying the right classes where each child can truly thrive. This personalized attention is a hallmark of the Nashville Ballet experience. While a majority of the reviews praise the positive and supportive environment, a recent review highlighted a parent's concern about the school's policy regarding classroom transparency. This feedback points to the school's practice of not allowing parents to observe classes from screens or inside the classroom, which some may find surprising. This particular parent, a former teacher, expressed concern about not being able to see what is being taught or how it is being taught, citing issues of accountability and safety. They voiced frustration over the lack of transparency, which prevented them from making an informed decision about enrolling their children in the program. Despite this, the school's long-standing reputation in the community and the positive experiences of many other families speak to its overall value and quality as a dance education provider in Tennessee.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Our 3-year-old daughter adores her ballet classes at Nashville Ballet. The instructors and entire staff have been so kind, patient, and thoughtful in helping her build confidence and joy through movement. From day one, they’ve made her feel welcome and supported, and have done such a wonderful job identifying the classes where she’ll thrive. It’s been so special to watch her fall in love with ballet and we're grateful for the nurturing and encouraging environment Nashville Ballet has created for young dancers!
July 23 · Anna A ClintonUNACCEPTABLE LACK OF TRANSPARENCY.We want to find a more rigorous dance class for our little girls so we decided to try the Nashville Ballet School. They offer a free trial class so we went today only to find that they have no screens of what is happening in the classroom and parents are not allowed to watch the classes. So they just take the kids back to an unknown room and the parents have NO idea what is being taught. How am I supposed to decide whether I want to pay hundreds of dollars to their school to teach my child to dance if I have no idea what they are teaching or how they are teaching it?Not to mention the liability and safety concerns, in this world today. The total lack of transparency is a huge concern. The teacher has absolutely no accountability in the classroom because it is only them and the children who are in the room. I taught in the classroom for ten years... I know that accountability is important and that transparency about what is being taught and how it is being taught is someone parents SHOULD have.It was a very frustrating experience, we were excited to get involved in this school. Too bad we can't even see what we are missing! We will not be back.
May 07 · Rebecca HardingLooking forward to bringing my daughter here for a trial class, it will be her first time attending a dance class. Nashville School of Ballet has a great team that is ready and willing to answer any questions you may have regarding your first time dancers!
July 14 · Cydnei BreedloveMy daughter began taking ballet at the Nashville School of Ballet after taking part in their production of The Nutcracker last Christmas. Her experience with both has been nothing short of amazing! She is flourishing in her ballet course and has grown even more as a dancer. I strongly recommend the Nashville School of Ballet for those in search of a great dance School.
April 28 · Kimberly GoinsI was a bit nervous to try this, as I have very little previous dance training. Eric taught the Intro to Ballet class and made it so fun and engaging. I'm signing up for more classes, this seems like a fun new thing to learn!
