I wouldn’t recommend this place. From the multiple paragraph of emails. To the brash tone used in the messages. To not even being greeted or said bye too after each rehearsal.. not even on the last day!!. To the studio being closed on multiple occasions- the last occasion was for almost a month... I am even sad I have to write such a bad review because I really wanted this to be a good experience and dance season for my daughter.To top it off, The recital/showcase was bland,No props were used and any visual effects. Just a solid color background. Music too low etc. I’m just really disappointed.I am not sure if any other dance studios are just like this and the bar is just so low that . But I am truly not understanding where the multiple 5 star reviews are coming from….

It pains me to post this, but i think it is important for parwnts with toddler-aged children. The dancing is good, which means the choreography is good. After reading the other reviews I had pause to comment, but my child's experience, as well as others in her class, we're not pleasant. My child is toddler-/preschool-aged. The owner, although talented, has not displayed the temperament to deal with young dancers. She has dragged students out of class instead of asking a parent to remove the child. She has ignored children AND parents when they have entered prior to a class. There were no parent/adult volunteers to watch the 3-5 year olds backstage forbthe recital until one parent was passive aggressively volunteered by another employee. "Oh you're [student]'s mom. You can watch em." The preschoolers were expected to navigate a new space (since the "dress rehearsal" wasn't at the performance venue) in compete black darkness between numbers. Emails were sent whole-group for all classes with information that pertained to specific classes. The amount of emails was excessive and without pertinent information, meaning, half the emails sent could have been condensed or omitted. The owner has talent and executes very few social and customer service skills. Theyemails seemed like afterthoughts and the tone in the emails were defensive. To sum it up, if you want an instructor who cares about dance and the final product alone, sign up for Marquita's sassy feet. If you want a teacher that cares about the students while guiding them towards excellence and confidence, go somewhere ANYWHERE else.

BEST DANCE STUDIO FOR YOUR LITTLE DANCER. Preface that we haven’t had every teacher yet so I’m speaking on the ones that we have classes with. First and foremost - Mrs. Marquita the direct, steals the show. This women not only TEACHES her classes, she pours her heart into each and every dancer she has. Want advise on a cartwheel, she’ll help you, want to know if your dancer needs added help, she will tell you. If she thinks your dancer is improving she will tell you. You can see her literal blood, sweat and tears and she’s smiling seeing your dancer improve before her very eyes. She has heart, I’ve never experienced that in a dance studio before. Oh need guidance because your dander isn’t feeling up to showcase, she will talk to them to make sure they are ready and will be blunt honest with you, in such a caring and elegant manner. She is the GOAT. JASMINE - she loves her little ones. She gives her students a fun and creative atmosphere and ends classes with a treat for her students. I’m sorry, excuse me? My dancer walks out with a sticker or candy and is so excited to be there because of the environment Ms. Jasmine creates in her class. MS. SHANNON - she ends every class with a quick meditation. She prioritizes not only your dancers physical, but mental health. I’m sorry come again? Yes, she will tell them that both are important. She will work with you and make your dancer feel so confident it is astronomical to see right before your eyes. She does it in such a lighthearted and positive way. MS. KIMBERLY - she is my dancers favorite teacher. She will set the time aside for an entire semester to give your little ones private lessons and let your little one lead the way. She does this in such a gentle and comforting way that my dancer doesn’t realize Ms. Kimberly is working out a plan that makes her a better dancer. She is so patient, so kind and so filled with joy when she seen your dancer improve on the splits or the stretches. She was willing to dedicate an entire semester to my dancer’s improvement in private lessons and did so with a smile as beautiful as her. In short, at Sassy Feet, you gain a family. You have Ms. Jennifer glowing with a smile as stunning as her when you walk in, you have other parents support to lean on. I have personally seen a mom go to the store to get a student something, when it wasn’t her child. That is true family actions. I have had parents ask “how are you doing do you feel better, any way I can help you with that?” This studio offers more than a dance choreography, it offers your child confidence, growth, discipline and true support. You are insane if you contemplate between Sassy Feet and another studio, because this place is ONE OF A KIND!

My daughter has been an active sassy feet dancer since age 5 she is currently in the dance company. The director, Ms. Marquita Hurd is dedicated, very strict, and enthusiastic in teaching dance techniques. There are classes for toddlers, girls, teens, and adults in lyrical, ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, Pointe, leaps and turns. The Sassy Dance Company has won many awards at different dance competitons.
