Berkeley City Ballet Reviews
My daughter loves dancing at Berkeley City Ballet! We have had the most positive experience there over the last 4 years. The teachers are kind and keep the classes fun, yet inspire the dancers to grow and be the best they can be. The new director is so helpful and does a great job communicating with parents. Last year my daughter came down with mono and had to sit out for almost a month of classes. They prioritized her health and never once tried to push her to come back to class before she was ready, even though the spring performance was coming up. They worked with her to get her back up to speed so that she could still participate in the show. The best part is the winter Nutcracker performance. It’s so fun to watch the kids progress to bigger and more difficult parts each year. You can really see their improvement! It’s such a privilege for my daughter to participate in this rich ballet tradition. We’ve been very happy with everything about this studio!
July 18 · Ellie WheelerWe have had a wonderful experience with Berkeley City Ballet. Our daughter (now 12) has been enrolled in the pre-professional program since 2021. She was enrolled in a different ballet school previous to this one, but she wanted something a little more structured. I cannot believe how much she has grown and learned in 4 years. The program provides true, classic ballet training with talented, thoughtful instructors. The Nutcracker performances are professional quality - the dancers work hard to prepare, while having a great time with each other in the process. The new director (as of 2024) is fantastic as are all the instructors. We feel lucky to have found such a great spot for pre-professional ballet in the East Bay.
