★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Updated Review: 02/25/25 - JSA administration made great strides in the last year in spite of what seems like fewer staff in the office. I am upgrading my stars from one to three.Original Review: JSA has great teachers. That's where the good stuff ends. The administration of this school is terrible. I just got back from the second event I've attended where my son was crying when I finally got to him because he thought I didn't show up; when in fact, I had been at the school more than 45 minutes early, waiting in a HUGE check-in line that stretched out of the school and down the sidewalk. This was NOT an isolated incident. Every single event hosted by this school is VERY disorganized and overcrowded. There seems to be zero planning for the number of people who show up. If it wasn't for the wonderful teachers he's had, my son would no longer be enrolled at this horribly managed school. Shame on the administration for doing nothing to improve things. How about having a pre-registration for parents to report their plans to attend prior to the event? Or allowing parents to pay for a background check and obtain a permanent visitor badge? There are so many things they could do but they do nothing, and the result is chaos. Additionally, the principal does not answer parent emails most of the time. I have learned this from experience. On paper, this school seems great. In practice, it's awful. Truly hoping my son gets a private school voucher next year so I can get him out of this mess.
February 25 · Christine “Chrissy” PeltierA school is not great on its own: teachers, staff, students and parents all contribute to the success of education. There has to be responsibility, accountability and drive for excellence from ALL the above. I think the school has done its part well. It's our turn as parents to fill the remaining gaps.
February 01 · Mon AmiDon’t under stand why we have zero red flags that others / school instructors don’t pick up on.Extremely Disappointed in a few instructors positively.I know a lot of folks that teach / instruct in our county. In the past we were kept in tune with the goings on and we stayed ahead of the curve. That was pre-K through grade 5.Really sad that this lack of attention for the challenged ones seems to go un attended to this year..
October 17 · West Studio BlogsI have been pleased with my sons instructors at the school. The students in elementary having access to all of the arts is a major plus, as well as the STEAM offerings within the daily curriculum. I would highly recommend the school for anyone with a student pre k - 8th grade.
March 29 · Michael SearsMy daughter has been challenged at Jewitt. She has to actually work for her grades. She didn't have to work for her grades at regular public school. She got straight A's but didn't learn nearly as much as she does now at Jewitt. The STEAM program really works. The teachers and principal are in constant communication with parents in various ways. She gets to start her major next year. She loves the art programs at JSA! I am very happy with this school.
