★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My husband and I had such a good experience with Brandon of Louisiana Dance Roots. We did a private dance lesson as a fun date night at the Dance Quarter in New Orleans! He started off with an introduction of what Cajun dance meant to him and how he learned this form of dance. We learned the two step, the Waltz, and practiced turns. They were simple moves that gave us a good foundation to practice at home. During our lesson he serenaded with the accordion, which was unexpected. We loved it! He would regularly stop and check to get feedback and answer any questions. We appreciated his relaxed approach and look forward to future lessons and classes with him. If you’re thinking about doing lessons, I would highly recommend. We had so much fun!
August 26 · Nichol RockwellBrandon gave us a beginner lesson at Festival International that was very helpful. He incorporated his deep experience in dance with his knowledge of the beginner struggles which was very helpful. Learning this way of dancing is fun way to honor Zydeco music and culture!
May 19 · Fred SyreA very unique experience to begin with, and Brandon made it even better with his passion for dance , movement, and connection. He accompanied us throughout the lesson with his accordion, and never laughed when we stepped all over each other’s feet. We left dancing 150% better after just an hour and a half. He even sent us a few candid photos with a personal message after the lesson. 10/10 experience, and we hope to attend more lessons with him in the future!
August 25 · keely macloudIt was a perfect balance of history lesson, instruction, and dance. I was able to practice leading, which is so good for the brain and for expanding social dance skills. Instructions were clear, succinct, and well modified to individual needs of the participants. Ivy provided great coaching and modeling.
August 14 · Cathy HensonBrandon is an incredible teacher. I attended his lesson on 2-step, Waltz and Zydeco at Artmosphere and had a great time! This is a great space for anyone looking to learn Cajun dancing. The instructions are easy to follow and Brandon makes the whole experience very fun! 10/10 would recommend!
