Southern Tier Gymnastics And Cheer Introduce
Southern Tier Gymnastics And Cheer, located in Endwell, is a specialized sports complex and gymnastics center dedicated to the development of young athletes throughout the New York Southern Tier region. While it operates as a focused gymnastics and cheer facility rather than a multi-sport public gymnasium, its comprehensive programs and commitment to skill development make it a vital part of the local athletic community. The facility’s core philosophy centers on helping young athletes, from the very young to the most gifted, spread, nurture, and develop the sport of gymnastics.
For over thirty years, this center has been committed to instilling the virtues of gymnastics, which include the development of strong physical abilities, mental toughness, and self-esteem. The environment is designed to be nurturing, helping to build both coordination and confidence in a controlled, supportive setting. Programs are structured for both recreational enjoyment and serious competition, ensuring that every child, regardless of ability or prior experience, can find a path to success. The curriculum strongly incorporates strength and conditioning, building essential muscle foundations to prevent injury and prepare the body for more complex and advanced movements.
The atmosphere at Southern Tier Gymnastics And Cheer is often highlighted by its members as a key distinguishing factor. Parents who have transitioned from other facilities frequently praise the positive team mentality and the quality of the coaching, describing the community as feeling like a "family." This focus on a strong, supportive culture is intended to foster success and commitment among all athletes. However, local New York residents considering the Tots Class or other groups for very young children should take note of critical feedback regarding supervision and group size, emphasizing the importance of observing class dynamics and trusting one's instinct regarding safety protocols for the youngest participants. Prospective members should engage directly with staff to understand their current safety guidelines and supervision ratios, especially for beginner groups.

Choosing Southern Tier Gymnastics And Cheer is a decision to prioritize specialized, focused athletic development within a highly supportive environment in the Endwell, NY area. The facility’s long-standing dedication to the sport for over three decades speaks to a depth of experience and commitment often hard to find in larger, less specialized sports complexes.
The primary strength of this center lies in its comprehensive, structured programs that cater to the full spectrum of a child's gymnastics journey—from gross motor skills in the Tots Class to the technical demands of advanced competition. This clear, progressive curriculum ensures every athlete is working towards their next goal, supported by dedicated Strength And Conditioning training that minimizes risk and maximizes potential.
However, the compelling reason for choosing this facility, frequently echoed by current members, is the intangible sense of "family" and the positive coaching culture. For parents looking for a change or a first-time experience, the highly praised team mentality offers a stark contrast to environments where competition overshadows camaraderie. It is a place where athletes are not just taught skills but are actively nurtured as individuals, building the self-esteem and mental toughness that translate to success in all areas of life, not just on the mat. While potential members must exercise due diligence regarding safety protocols for the youngest age groups, the facility's overall track record and positive community feedback for competitive and older recreational athletes make it a premier choice for gymnastics and cheer in the Southern Tier of New York.

Southern Tier Gymnastics And Cheer Reviews
February 15, 2023, was the worst night of our lives. Our son was in the 3-5yr group, which was way too large for the young coach to handle. Recognizing this, the owner Al split the group one evening, and my son (then 3 years old) was with him. He had my son climb the wall ladders and walked away to tend to other children in a different activity. My son fell to the hard ground below!! He did not know how to climb down and was left! We had to get him help immediately he was in shock, pure white and nauseous, and couldn't move his arm.He ended up needing to be semi sedated just to be able to get x-rays as he screamed in pain - 6 medical staff and pure hell...the x-rays showed a broken elbow, and he needed emergency surgery in the morning. He had 2 pins put in.We dropped the lawsuit after the long fight of having their insurance cover the medical bills, but our then attorneys said it was clear negligence. They had it on video and Al acknowledged to me his mistake. My son and our family suffered because of pure negligence. Please be aware putting your little ones in these groups, trust your gut if it seems too busy or too large of a group...hopefully they learned to be aware of little one's abilities and to maintain supervision always....hopefully nobody else has to endure what my little boy did....
August 24 · Sherry RileyFor many years my daughter went to another facility. After some struggles at the other gym, we moved her here. The coaching and positive team mentality is way above and beyond the gym we left. It is really a family here. I wish we had picked here instead of the other gym and I'd like other parents not to make the same mistake. If your daughter we wants to try gymnastics or you are looking for a new gym this is the place.
May 09 · Katherine colletteThings could have been better the floors were gross and un vacuumed. the fridge we were told to use was gross and full of mold. They said they would have the balloons other stuff. That wasn't brought out. The people setting up didn't show up till about 5 mins till the party started. The drop tile ceiling was full of water stains from the roof leaking.. definitely room for improvement. All that matters to me tho is my daughter had such a fun time with her friends!!!
May 05 · josh mizellMy daughter has taken multiple classes at this facility. The staff are great and work well with children of all ages and all abilities. Many children that attend my daughter's school and after school activities attend this facility as there are classes through out the week. Having had the opportunity to speak with the owners and staff of multiple gymnastics training facilities in Broome and Tioga counties, I highly recommend STGA. I have friends who are also bringing their children from Johnson City and other areas to the STGA facility in Endwell. Take the time to meet and learn about the people who are working with the kids and you will see that Southern Tier Gymnastics is a great place.
