★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1A real privilege to learn from such incredibly talented artists. Its one thing to have such amazing talent, but to then also be great at teaching requires a very special ability. Mike bhai is extremely patient, very approachable and wise beyond years. He combines philosophy and theory of music and helps you grow both as a tabla student and as a person. Love being part of Taalim school.
December 25 · Anand ShahThe Taalim School of Indian Music is an amazing organization and is a great way for people to start getting in to Indian music. Having been a student for 9 years, Taalim School has helped me in many ways. It has helped me become better at playing the tablas, form strong relationships with my teacher, and allowed me connect with people everywhere I go. All of the teachers are amazing, kind, and extremely supportive and helpful. I would definitely recommend anyone who is interested in starting their journey in Indian music to join the Taalim School, because it is an awesome community to be a part of.
July 09 · Shiven SoodI have been learning tabla from the Taalim School for about a year now. The class structure has made learning very approachable and fun even as an absolute beginner. I get to play alongside other students, but the lessons are still catered to each student’s interests and skills across rhythm, tone, speed, and musicality. If you are thinking about just starting with tabla or are looking for a welcoming environment to continue your practice, I highly recommend the Taalim school!
June 18 · Meena BalaMy son takes Tabla classes and my daughter takes Kathak classes with Taalim. They both have grown so much from these programs. Their teachers are amazing, my kids adore them and learn so much from them. I would highly, highly recommend Taalim to anyone considering learning Indian music.
June 16 · Hina PatelTaalim school has been a great experience for our family. Mike Lukshis has been my son’s tabla guru (teacher). And, my son has learned so much. Mike teaches my boy more than just tabla. He focuses on his overall growth through the lessons. He customizes his style to make it a better learning experience for my son ... and is truly passionate about his art and cares deeply about his students. Am so glad we found Taalim and Mike!
