Cleveland Academy of Performing Arts Introduce
The Cleveland Academy of Performing Arts (CAPA) is a vibrant and dynamic performing arts theater and academy located in Cleveland, Georgia, serving as a creative nexus for individuals across White County and the surrounding North Georgia region. CAPA is far more than just a place to learn lines and songs; it operates as a holistic educational institution dedicated to nurturing the talents of both children and adults. The academy’s mission centers on using the transformative power of the arts—specifically acting, musical theatre, and media production—to not only develop performance skills but also to build immense personal confidence, social skills, and emotional intelligence.
CAPA distinguishes itself by integrating a unique, award-winning, psychology-based curriculum into its arts instruction. This approach, which draws on principles from Positive Psychology and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), ensures that students develop resilience, self-awareness, and the ability to navigate challenges both on and off the stage. This dedication to personal growth is repeatedly highlighted in testimonials from Georgia families who note significant positive changes in their children's confidence and social abilities after enrolling at CAPA. The academy fosters a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive environment that encourages original expression and community collaboration, making it a highly recommended choice for aspiring performers and for children seeking a positive developmental outlet. The studio regularly hosts and showcases live performances, offering students invaluable practical experience in a real theatrical setting.
The Cleveland Academy of Performing Arts is conveniently situated at 28 Industrial Blvd, Suite 205 B, in Cleveland, GA 30528, USA. This location places the facility in the heart of White County, making it easily accessible for local residents and those commuting from neighboring communities in North Georgia. As a dedicated space for artistic instruction, the academy’s physical setting is designed to facilitate a focused and creative learning experience.
Accessibility is a key priority for CAPA, ensuring the facility is welcoming to all members of the Georgia community. The location provides both a wheelchair accessible entrance and a dedicated wheelchair accessible parking lot. The use of credit cards and debit cards for payments also adds a layer of modern convenience for local users managing registration fees and class payments. Being located in a light industrial area often means easier parking availability compared to dense downtown areas, which is a practical benefit for Georgia parents dropping off and picking up children.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My son has had an incredible experience here. I love how he comes home every evening feeling confident and excited about the show they’re working on. I am looking forward to him joining in on even more that CAPA has to offer in the future. Ms Tyra is very supportive of him in all he does.
June 11 · Kayla JohnsonMy son has loved being at CAPA. He started out in a voice over class, then film and TV, and is now moving into stage acting. His confidence and social skills have grown through the support of the owner and his peers. The environment at CAPA is a welcoming, accepting, and supportive one. I would recommend you check this place out!
July 27 · Jason PayneMy children just started at the academy and so far they love it. They just had their first performance and it was amazing. Mrs. Tyra works very hard with the kids and you can tell she loves what she is doing.
June 12 · Katherine WiseI have been working with Tyra for a bit now, and I can say she is top notch. I have been to other voice teachers and grew up singing in school choir and musical theater. I have recorded myself singing over the years and always thought I sounded horrible. The problem is I love singing. With Tyra’s guidance, I heard a recording of myself that I actually liked. Her methods teach the basics, to have fun, and most importantly confidence. I would recommend Cleveland Academy of Performing Arts to any adult looking to get in, or back into singing or musical theater. Without a doubt, 5 STARS.
January 06 · Katharine NeuhausMy son loves attending Cleveland Academy for the Performing Arts. He has taken so many of the classes offered including acting, voice over, and puppetry. He has used the skills he's learned in school to help him speak in front of his class with confidence. He is much more confident and has improved critical thinking skills. He is also much more able to convey his thoughts and feelings through his body language and pick up on others emotions and feelings through their non-verbal cues. Tyra is amazingly talented and a blessing to the kids that get to work with her. She is able to meet the kids where they are so they all end the class with confidence and new skills. Now that Sudie is working with CAPA it is even more incredible if that's even possible. I can't recommend Cleveland Academy of Performing Art's enough. It offers exceptional opportunities for kids through the classes offered.
