June 28 · Mynique ChristolinThis is THE place to go to learn Konpa in Miami. I took one private class and two group classes during a week long stay in Miami and I cant recommend this Konpa dance school more. Sony Laventure’s deep knowledge of Haitian culture and music, as well as his background in martial arts combined with dance mean he has a deep understanding of the body, and of movement. His approach is really thorough, from basic steps, to body movements and body isolations, to footwork and combinations. The studio is in an ideal location and spacious and well lit, and the dance school’s regular students are passionate and dedicated.
