Allegro Academy of Music, Etiquette and Dance Reviews
Update: April 19, 2025, thanks to Dr. Goreshnik, affectionately called “Mrs. Margaret” by many, I was able to apply the skills learned from her as a vital part of respectable violin shop for many years. My duties included all aspects of violin, from scratch builds as a resident luthier to education. The specific skills learned from Dr. Goreshnik that applied to that aspect of my career included learning the needs and demands of high quality musicians from their instruments, award winning customer service, and particularly the educational aspect. Thanks to Dr. Goreshnik and her very detailed approach to teaching the violin, I in turn am able to impart the concepts, techniques, and methods of playing out and playing well in solo and orchestral settings. My students are winning their auditions and competitions. Thank you, ‘Mrs. Margaret’ for all that you did, and by extension all that you still do, to make your students successful. And now, the original review below:I've been associated with the director Dr. Margaret Goreshnik for many years. She has proven to be a very effective teacher by providing the necessary tools and challenges to help me bring my musical skill level up exponentially.I also worked at Allegro Music Academy as the receptionist for a period of 2 years. During that time I personally witnessed many student and proficient musicians thrive and succeed, taking their music to the next level. I saw firsthand the benefits musical training can bring to people of all ages and abilities, and it starts with finding good teachers.Under Margaret's direction I learned many sides of music education, becoming both proficient violinist and teacher, shedding bad musical habbits and gaining good ones, and even sharpening my skills as a businessman. My memory, dexterity, and mental balance improved. I learned more than just technique, I learned artistry in musicianship, and was even able to take the skills I learned and apply them to other fields. I am forever grateful that I was able to partake of such a fine school and to work with and among professional artists and musicians. Now I am not just a violinist but also a professional artist.Indeed... hard work, practice, and the proper attitude will help anyone reap the rewards of studying music.Kudos and thank you to Allegro and its fine staff.
