★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 14-26-25: Exciting 4 part program including Michael Smuin’s ‘The Enternal Idol’ and ‘I Remember Now’. Loved it!Dance program number one on September 24, 2022 was fabulous! Especially enjoyed the first act using Dave Brubeck’s music. Highly recommended!I have attended many times over the years and Smuin is always a wonderful trip to SF.
April 26 · Bay WalkerWe got tickets for the Christmas ballet. It was super magical! My husband and found ourselves moved to tears many times! We caught the performance in Mountain View center for performing arts... great venue, affordable seats and stellar performances. I highly recommend this ballet!
December 09 · Lisa & Michael DimmittI took the Ballet FUNdamentals series with Emma Andre and had a great time! I always wanted to try ballet but had no prior experience. Emma's passion for ballet is clear which made learning it truly enjoyable. I learned so much and always looked forward to going to class. Highly recommend!
September 30 · Stephanie BrownI have been fascinated by ballet since I was 12 and saw the New York City Ballet in both rehearsals and performance. We have had season tickets for both San Francisco and San Jose Ballet. (I even was a supernumerary in the San Jose Nutcracker.) Though these large companies have much to offer, Smuin Ballet does something I've rarely seen. The dancers capture the dynamics of an amazing energetic relationship between themselves. I can feel I am within the dance, carried by that relationship as much as the choreography. I am mesmerized from the time the curtain rises to long after I've returned home. Smuin gives so much more than just a visual treat. They infect the audience with joy, drama, and something like the catharsis felt with Greek theater. I leave energized with a broad smile on my face, filled with a complete experience of The Dance.
November 08 · William BuchholzBeautiful Christmas Ballet, my first visit to a Smuin performance. Very professional and perfect variety of music and cultures. And SO much humor! Most fun I've had this year.
December 11 · Linda
