May 18 · Brittany BrownI have been working through Rachel’s healthy dancer intensive this summer to complement my intensive training at BalletMet and the Nutmeg Conservatory. Not only were the workshops a wonderful evening activity to wind down after dancing all day, I found that each workshop gave me a tool to take to class the next day. Especially in a high stress environment like a summer intensive, constantly being filled with body positive messages and reminded that dancers do need to eat helped me to stay confident and positive in the studio. Rachel and the other guest teachers provided so many valuable resources that dancers need outside of class.

Among the vast array of information on nutrition and nutrition for athletes/dancers out there, I find Rachel’s tutorials and guides cut through confusion and give me tools I can actually use right away!

She had great visuals for them to look at and presented things in a way that was easy for the kids to understand. She was personable and we felt very comfortable in the way that she addressed a subject that can be difficult with teen dancers.
