I have been attending Boston Ballet classes for the past two years. I’ve always enjoyed my experience with the staff, except I’ve had two incidents with Jennifer at the front desk for the second time Jennifer insinuated that I did not pay for a class that I had paid for as if I’m trying to take a class without paying for it When I had class on May 5 she told me that I had not paid for a class that I was signed up for and that she will be charging me for the class. I stated that I had already paid for the class. And that I had paid for two classes that I was put on waiting list for but I was canceled because the classes were too full, which is why I was in this class. She said OK after I took the class I got an email from Jennifer stating that she charged me anyways for the class so I went back to Jennifer And showed her the text messages from the school where my classes were canceled. I also showed her on my credit statement where they charged me for the class . Jennifer is very dismissive and very rude when I come in and she told me she’s very confused and she’ll have to look into these things deeper after I had already paid for the class. I asked her since she charged me twice for the class instead of refunding me for what she already charged just put me in next weeks class. She did not put me in next weeks class she just looked at me and dismissed me and I asked her not to charge me again without my permission. Jennifer is very unprofessional at the desk when I come in. She’s extremely dismissive and I really don’t appreciate the treatment because I’m not trying to steal classes.she did this twice and I find it very insulting.

This review for sharing an unfortunate incident happened to me on Jan 28th 2024. The whole thing still feels so bizarre and unbelievable.I take an adult class in the early afternoon from 2:15pm to 3:45pm every Sunday there. I usually arrive about 1 hour before to change clothes and do my warm up.Last Sunday I arrived at the studio around 12:50pm, and there was more people around because of the audition. After I changed into the ballet attire, and got to Studio 3 (the class takes place there), it's about 1:05pm. The studio was empty. I went in, and started doing my warm up. I noticed a man was lingering near the piano. After maybe 2 or 3 minutes, I noticed my backpack near me was gone.There is a door connecting studio 3 and studio 4. Not seeing my bag anywhere in studio 3, I opened that door and find the man in studio 4. When I asked him if he has seen my bag, he says there was a girl came in studio 3 and took it, maybe she mistakenly thought it's her bag. But I didn't see or hear anyone coming near me.I then hurried downstairs to talk to the receptionist and security guard. Since there is surveillance camera near the entrance, I was hoping that they could find if my bag is taken mistakenly. The receptionist asked me to write down the items in my bag, and the security guard says that someone will check the footage from the surveillance camera and get back to me on Monday. However, it looks like they were not completely sure about the procedure for handling an incidence like this.After not hearing back on Monday (1/29), I emailed Boston ballet on Tuesday, and the response is that I need a police report, and investigator needs to request the footage. So I ended up filing a policy report on Tuesday.Here is my verdict after the incidence. I am surprised by how this accident could take place, and also the minimum help I get it from it.Usually I see all the adult students just put their belongings outside the studio to take the lesson, although there are lockers in the lock room, but most people don't use it. I think the presence of the security guard, surveillance camera, the checkin process with receptionist, give one a sense of safety. However, the safety seems to be somewhat an illusion. Luckily I took my cellphone out that day, but I can imagine how bad one feels if one loses more valuable electronics like laptops, tablets, etc.Even worse, it's puzzling to me the person lingering in Studio 3 and 4. That person didn't look like a parent (for his age, if he were a parent, the kid would be very young and the person was roaming alone in the two studios), didn't wear ballet slippers in the studios, so I don't think he's a dancer or student there. But the staff in Boston ballet seems to be not concerned by it.I love the lessons I take there and the teachers there are exceptional, my skill improved so much after the lessons there. However, this accident does add a bitter taste to my feeling about Boston ballet.

I went to the adult classes here for about 6 years off and on. I grew up doing ballet, and love the adult classes here. It's often hard to find high quality adult classes because the students have a very wide range in abilities, and the classes do a good job of designing and choreography that is both challenging but also intuitive to learn. I really enjoy class with Arthur Leeth, his choreography is great and his combinations are beautiful and challenging and really fun to do. Excellent experience.

I absolutely love both the Boston Ballet Company and the classes. I take adult beginner classes and the teachers are SO kind and helpful. The atmosphere of the adult classes is very friendly and welcoming and you don't feel judged for your level or body type. I have had such a wonderful experience and have met so many wonderful people. Also, I love going to the ballet. They are top notch quality and have the highest level of excellence in technique and musciality. So inspiring! Check them out either for a ballet performance or for classes! Young and old are welcome at Boston Ballet!

Somehow it does seem that four stars should be more than liked it, and five should be absolutely superlative. With Boston Ballet there were some very precious and treasured evenings of watching lovely performances.The first time we went a colleague had invited and Rudolf Nureyev was to perform in Don Quixote with Paris Ballet, and all dressed up with high expectations off we went. Halfway through the performance I was wondering why the title performer seemed less of an attraction and the young lover more so, was I not artistic enough to know subtleties of ballet? I had assumed Nureyev would be doing the title role.Then on it was an addiction not easily satisfied what with meagre economic resources and high costs of the evening, but then a few years later it became possible, just about, and I went ballistic, buying a year's subscription when offered on phone. So it began for the short year that it was.There was the eternal superlative Swan Lake, and that was the first one we saw, with me a friend with her Russian heritage and therefore much more knowledgeable in ballet. I loved it, she had seen better and merely said she had as much or more fun watching me.I don't remember which was the third one, because Sleeping Beauty I saw in NY with American Ballet, but in Boston I recall vividly performance of Romeo and Juliet, with its poignant music and its conception of Death as a character.In between I was fortunate enough to see a film about Kirov Ballet in downtown Boston, and a performance of Swan Lake by Bolshoi on cable - then it was new - in the friend's home on their small television. It was a revelation, and remains the peak of my ballet appreciation so far.What with beginning with Nureyev in Paris Ballet and finale with Bolshoi, still, the Boston Ballet with the two memorable performances we saw remain memorable. The music, watching them take flight as swans and perform as humans, everything fairy tale. As it is meant to be.
