As a premier ballroom dance instructor service, it stands out for its personalized approach, exceptional choreography, and, most importantly, the fun and supportive atmosphere it provides. Located in the vibrant city of San Francisco, this is more than just a dance studio; it's a place where students of all levels can feel at home, learn at their own pace, and transform their dancing aspirations into reality. The rave reviews from past clients are a testament to the fact that Emily Coles Dance SF delivers on its promise to make learning to dance a blast, not a chore.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Emily Coles Dance SF is the deeply personal and enjoyable experience it offers. As one client enthusiastically put it, "Emily is amazing!! My husband and I aren’t dancers and she choreographed a really fun first dance 6 weeks before our wedding. The dance included twists, dips, and lifts that beginners could easily do. On top of that, Emily is such a great person that made the whole process a blast." This review highlights the core of the business: the ability to craft intricate, yet accessible, choreography for absolute beginners. The focus is not on perfection but on making the process fun and memorable. For many couples, dance lessons become a highlight of their week, providing a much-needed break from the stresses of event planning. Another client shared, "Her dance class ended up being the highlight of our week because she makes it so enjoyable!" This feedback shows that Emily's warmth and fun-loving nature are as much a part of the service as her professional expertise, creating an environment where learning feels like a joyous hobby rather than a daunting task.
The dedication and skill that Emily brings to her work are truly exceptional. One couple was so impressed that they insisted, "BOOK HER NOW! Emily blew our expectations." They went on to describe how she "expertly crafted an elaborate 5+ minute dance for us, combining 2 songs into 3 parts." This level of detailed and personalized service is a significant reason why so many clients trust her with their most important moments. The ability to cater to different needs and skill levels is also a key feature; as the same review noted, "I know she choreographs simpler dances too." The dance lessons are not just about the final performance; they are about the entire journey. Emily's use of video recordings to track progress is a clever and effective tool that helps students learn and provides them with a treasured memento of their hard work. The convenience of booking classes through her Calendly link also makes the process incredibly user-friendly, further enhancing the overall positive experience.
In addition to her professional expertise, Emily Coles Dance SF is a business that stands out for its values. The business identifies as both LGBTQ+ owned and women-owned, which makes it a particularly welcoming and affirming space for many in the diverse San Francisco community. One client expressed immense gratitude, stating, "As a lesbian couple, we did a lot of research to find a dance teacher we could feel comfortable with as we learned the first dance for our wedding. We were so lucky to come across Emily!" This powerful testimonial speaks to the importance of finding a safe and inclusive environment to learn, and it's a testament to the kind of business Emily has built. Her genuine acceptance and supportive nature allow everyone to feel comfortable, whether they are learning a traditional dance or a fun, over-the-top routine to an 80s hit. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Emily is amazing!! My husband and I aren’t dancers and she choreographed a really fun first dance 6 weeks before our wedding. The dance included twists, dips, and lifts that beginners could easily do. On top of that, Emily is such a great person that made the whole process a blast.
November 19 · Sabrina ChernyBOOK HER NOW! Emily blew our expectations. She is so much fun and has the warmest heart. She expertly crafted an elaborate 5+ minute dance for us, combining 2 songs into 3 parts. It took us 20 classes, 1x week. We didn’t practice outside of class once, but nailed it on wedding day! (I know she choreographs simpler dances too.) Her dance class ended up being the highlight of our week because she makes it so enjoyable! She filmed our progress, so we could learn from the recording—but also so we could make a montage of our progress! Classes are easy to book on her Calendly and are absolutely worth driving to Potrero for! After class, go out to dinner nearby—I suggest Papito!
June 12 · Kendra Cleveland-Emily is a fabulous person, engaging personality and a great instructor. After a few classes we have became much more confident and were ready for our first dance. Each class was a great date night and we left the studio exicted and motivated every time.
May 13 · Michał ŁapkowskiEmily was an absolute delight to work with!! We hired her to help us prepare for our first dance for our wedding, and she did not disappoint. She is knowledgeable and friendly and a great teacher, and while her schedule gets filled up pretty quickly, she is communicative and flexible and will figure out a way to make things work within your timeframe/needs/budget! Due to some health issues we ended up only able to schedule 2 sessions with her, but it was still totally worth it!Emily not only taught us some basics of how to lead/follow, but also helped us choreograph a simple yet beautiful dance that fit perfectly with our slightly unique first dance song choice. We had such a fun time working with her, and she made us feel so much more confident in taking on the slightly daunting task of our first dance! Her patience, warmth, humor, and clear instruction made the lessons feel so easy and fun. She taught us a lot and also listened to our feedback and left us feeling encouraged and confident . While we only got 2 lessons in, it truly made all the difference and set us up perfectly to keep practicing and feel fully ready for our 'performance' at our wedding. If you are looking for someone to help you prepare for your wedding or any other dance performance, YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY BOOK HER!!! Thank you so so much Emily!!
October 15 · Jack & WhitneyMy partner and I loved working with Emily to prepare our dance for our wedding day. She is super cool, listened to what mattered to us, and helped us craft a simple yet beautiful routine. She doesn’t try and sell you on packages or require you to come for x number of lessons. She works at the pace that you are comfortable with and provides positive feedback so that you feel confident and prepared. 10/10 :)
