★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We in the Bay Area are very fortunate to have Marcelo Solis and his Escuela de Tango de Buenos Aires. I'm almost afraid to say how good his private lessons are for fear I won't be able to get on his schedule! However, to benefit the tango community as a whole, we must share :-) Marcelo imparts the essence of tango-the connection, nuances, discernment, history, and the musicality, not just patterns to memorize. He sees where you are and with an insightful ease hones in on what you need and enriches your dancing on all levels. His love of tango and sharing its rich artistry is embedded in Marcelo's soul. My husband and I are very grateful to be his students.
September 07 · Amy Roither-QuinteroMarcelo has such a beautiful organic way of teaching. As you learn to dance you will also learn the origins, history and the essence of tango. He is really an amazing teacher that makes the class both exciting and fun. Can’t recommend him enough.
September 10 · Iris Aluf MedinaI stumbled upon tango and couldn’t be more grateful to have found Marcelo as a teacher. He has been a total game changer in my pursuit of tango. After exploring several other tango classes and teachers around the Bay Area, I discovered Marcelo through another tango student. Born in Argentina and with over 30 years of tango experience, Marcelo literally seems to embody tango. In 8 weeks, I completed Marcelo’s beginner and intermediate tango series. The depth and value of the experience blew me away! Marcelo brings a deep love and passion for tango, and is very committed to supporting his students, actually providing each student with individual attention during class. Marcelo infuses his classes with a rich authentic Argentinean tango experience, teaching his students about technique, elegance, musicality, and so much more. He is patient, funny, and his community of dancers are the sweetest ever! Every Friday in Lafayette his Milonga is coupled with an amazingly generous potluck of wine and goodies created by him and his students. There is truly a shared spirit of community, friendship, and the joy of tango. I commute over an hour to take his classes. It’s hard to describe in words how special Marcelo’s tango classes are… so I highly recommend that you try it out for yourself! Happy dancing! (And thank you, Marcelo!)
